Chicago Radio Ratings 1-22-19

And I know that you said that stations that have very similar to WLIT have had success in other markets, doesn't mean WLIT will have that same success.

My guess is that WLIT's modified format will debut around 5th in 25-54 in the January book, while MeTV FM will remain around 25th or 26th.

Next to last song played: Darlene Love -- Marshmallow World. Why is this being played on ANY station on Jan. 28?

Because they can play it if they want to, did you miss at 7:30 this morning that they were playing Dean Martin's Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow? I haven't listened to the song in ages but isn't more of a winter song that a Christmas song, like some other songs like Frosty the Snowman, Winter Wonderland, and Let it Snow Let it Snow, Let it Snow, there are no mentions of Christmas inn this songs, expect for the Frosty the Snowman version from the tv special where Frosty says "i'll be back on Christmas Day". If you wanted to hear less of the song, as long as it is within the last 5 songs that has been played, you can go to http://www.metv.fm and click the play less button.

OK, I concede on the winter songs, especially with the weather Chicago is getting and will continue to suffer over the next few days. Thumbs up for WRME-LP for using its huge library creatively. There is a religious aspect to "Let It Snow," though, in the form of Parson Brown in the second verse -- but Christmas isn't mentioned, and besides, Brown isn't even in town!

Glad to see you ge up on winter songs, and they use it creatively they have a vast library of songs from 1950's to even 1990's music even if you hear songs like the pop version of Beauty and the Beast that played during the end credits of the animated version of Beauty and the Beast, Fields of Gold, and even Marc Cohen's Walking in Memphis.

And I am sure the Christmas ratings will be back next Christmastime

As they always have been ever since KEZ under manager Jerry Ryan first adopted the all-Christmas approach 28 years ago.
