Chicago Stations received across the Lake

Thanks. I assume WLS doesn't make it. I'm a bit surprised that WLUP doesn't since they send more signal that way.

WLS doesn't quite make it. IIRC, it's still there, but very weak around DTW airport. But then can't seem to get through the Detroit-Windsor combined metro....about 20 miles of buildings and noise. If I think of it next month, I'll check to see if maybe it resurfaces briefly on the 401....a very open and basically noise-free road.

WMVP is pretty much gone by about Jackson, MI, then the 990 from Ann Arbor clobbers it.

FWIW, going the other way, the two Canadians CKLW and CFCO, pretty much make it across the entire lower peninsula. And, of course, so does WJR.

CFCO has an amazing signal. I haven't checked recently, but I know I used to hear it here in the daytime.

I live near Michigan City, Indiana and I can tell you that we don't have a problem receiving all of the Chicago FM's. However, when it comes to television that's a different story-- especially since analog TV was turned off and digital TV was implemented. When Chicago TV was analog we had very little problem getting the local Chicago channels. Since things have gone digital we had to install an outside, directional yagi antenna to receive them properly. What a shame, I miss the old days of skip. I hope the FCC doesn't convert the FM band to all digital as well....what a travesty that would be! I need and want to keep my Chicago FM. What's great about living here is that we get Chicago, South Bend, and Southwest Michigan FM channels as well. An abundance of formats at my disposal!
