Chicago -- tower work at Willis Tower Oct. 19-21?

Today (Oct. 18) this banner appears on the MeTV schedule webpage :
“Chicago Viewers: Due to tower work on the Willis Tower, many Chicago TV and radio stations will experience service interruptions in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 1AM - 5:30AM. Service will be restored as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.“

Does anyone here know what this work consists of?

Who knows. Maybe something not-broadcast related, where climbers need to cross, or get close to broadcast antennas. During those times, stations need to reduce power or go off.

If the outage is during hours of darkness, it's not likely a tower worker issue.....
Most climbers I know do their work in the daylight --- and THAT'S risky enough!!
I'm sure there are cases where steeplejacks are needed during nighttime hours.....

Climbing at night or during the day still requires broadcast stations on the tower to reduce power or go off during the climb. Time of day has nothing to do with it.
