After 21 years in the Chicago radio, voiceover and music markets, most recently at CBS Radio, Bill LaTour otherwise known as LaTour has chosen Los Angeles as his new creative home.
Some may know his voice from the Chicago airwaves of Jack FM, Energy and B96, some for voicing nationwide commercials and others may realize he is the renowned voice behind the 1991 Billboard #1 smash hit, People Are Still Having Sex.
More than hitting #1 on the charts, the tune prompted a worldwide media frenzy with its controversially relevant lyrics in a time when the topic of sex was presumed feared and fortified by the numerous 'Just Say No' campaigns.
LaTour brought the reality to light and was featured on MSNBC, HBO and others to speak out about safe sex. To this day, the lyrics continue to appear on the Centers For Disease Control's educational documents.
During his long haul in Chicago, LaTour has been active in film and radio music composition. He created the haunting instrumental Blue which was featured in the equally controversial motion picture, Basic Instinct starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas.
LaTour welcomes new voiceover/ musical/ film projects, opportunities in the L.A. radio scene (production, imaging, air), as well as Los Angeles representation.
"I love Chicago, says LaTour, "but I needed to be closer to the L.A. talent pool. I have a huge interest in making music for films, voicing motion picture trailers, and taking in all the multimedia opportunities this city has to provide. It was time for a change."
His studio, Chateau LaTour, is state of the art and houses a variety of vintage electronic gear. Flexible, he records, edits, engineers, and produces his work but is also inspired by collaboration and new ideas.
Please take a moment to greet, connect or reconnect with LaTour before the L.A. traffic or earthquakes get to him first.
