rumor says chickboss handpicked replacement.
buzz is hes in house and its a shocker. :eek:
 
Why I think Dr. Akbar wouldn't be a huge shocker. :eek: At least not to the people on this board. ;D

The new PD will be Mark Jeffrey as we go to 24 hour traffic on KFYI.....actually on weekends it will be "The Best of Traffic" featuring highlights of the previous week's traffic mishaps!...and show topics like "Is it slow where you are"?

P.S. - Loved that clip from Fox 10 you used today on the flooding. Waht a great choice, honey. After listening to KTAR's billion reporters all over the place I'm really hoping that you've got a life raft attached to your access card. ;D
 
8)"username"...not a clever handle... confusing me with someone trying to do news at either station (KFYI or KTAR) not even close...but I maintain Mark Jeffery doing all-traffic-all-the-time would beat KTAR. Simple. :) now go away.

Nothing juicy to report, but I do know Laurie handpicked 3 candidates for consideration...
 
And none of them was the boy who was pickd. This was the promised stunner. Lots of googling wilmot and nothing comin up. Has this guy never been to any industry event, been quoted in a rag, been talked about ona chat board message, been on a panel, made any big hiring, ANNYYYYTTHHHINNG? :eek:
 
Or there are more important Jason Wilmots.

He did a good job keeping KNRS competitive with TMISU's flamethrower KSL in a highly saturated talk market, and will now get the chance to beat them.

What did he have to do with that? Not a loaded question. CC types I've talked to over the weekend don't know of anyone this guy hired or fired or anything else he did. And, isn't hte point he was never able to beat his competitor. Chickboss beat the biggest operation around in a highly saturated talk market. that's why we all cheered her on for so long.

KSL is a lot more entrenched in SLC than KTAR ever was, has higher shares, didn't stupidly pass over Sean Hannity when ABC syndicated him (who's now #1 12+, 25-54, and 35-64 in both markets), etc., etc. Both markets are saturated, SLC likely more so. They have just as many D-list latchkey talkers as we do, and more signals with a smaller population. I'll concede the guy isn't a genius, but he and/or they could have done much worse.
