Chickenman Returns to the Airwaves...on Radio Bop 60s!

Starting Monday, September 30, the adventures of the most fantastic crime fighter the world has ever known...CHICKENMAN...comes to Radio Bop 60s every third hour at 20 minutes til! My question to Houston radio historians...which local station carried the original series in the late 60s? I'm guessing KNUZ but please confirm...thanks. http://loudcity.com/stations/radio-bop-60s

chickenman returns

It was KPRC Radio, and it was Tim and Bob who talked station manager Jack Harris into buying it. I know it ran during T&B's morning show, and I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think it was repeated in afternoon drive.

Not long after it went on the air in 1966, and KPRC bought it, the show's creators sent T&B a Chickenman suit that one of the other station guys could wear to help them promote it. Here's one of the promotional photos on the Houston Radio History website. Scroll down to the T&B photos with Chickenman.

It didn't last very long, and I know that because Chickenman wasn't on the air when I went to work at KPRC in November of 1969.
