Absolutely!...What is on now isn't worth listening to most of the time.

I've emailed them several times. Maybe if more people do the same they might do something. How expensive can
it be to have the Top 6 on the hour?

As other threads here (And on xmfan.com) have lamented, this channel has been gutted. For whatever reason, there is a belief that a tight playlist is the key to reaching the masses and that it's only us "radio geeks" care about the frills, like the Beatle Bell, Chickenman, Friday Sonic Salute etc.

What I haven't found a good answer to yet is - what's the goal, from a programming point of view? Is it to increase TSL, Cume, other? How are they tracking this and how relevant is it for a paid medium, unlike traditional radio? And, given that 60's on 6 was one of the more popular channels in the one Arbitron that I saw on satellite radio, what measures, if any, are being used to determine listenership volume?

I don't know what they're doing. As you mentioned the 60s channel has been totally gutted.

I stopped listening to the "decades" channels when the changes became effective. I might as well listen to the local stations for free. The same playlist on both XM and terrestrial stations, so why pay?

I can actually understand why they might drop something like "Chickenman" which may cost them money, but why drop the "Top 6 on the hour?" That was totally preproduced in house.
