Chico Gets a New FM talker

A station drops a simulcast of one station to simulcast syndicated personalities that can be heard anyplace. Does this actually qualify as news? A brick wall with a radio placed in front of it is doing as much "broadcasting" as this unimaginative frequency in Chico.

Word is a couple of private groups have approached Mapleton to purchase the stations but have been turned down. Mapleton wants to sell the whole and not the parts of the company. Its really sad to see a once good group of small market stations be left on the vine to die this way. Word is they have taken their Chico stations all satellite with the exception of one, which is still mostly satellite programming.
