Chill Jazz says smooth jazz is coming back?

There's an interesting website out there called chilljazz.com that has a countdown clock on it that says "223 days, X hours, X minutes, etc." until the launch of what appears to be a new internet smooth jazz internet station. Well, that's not too exciting. Internet stations are a dime a dozen. But something interesting is something the chilljazz outfit posted on their twitter page. It says: *Breaking News* Smooth Jazz Returns to New York City via a FM signal. More info to come!

Hmm. All of the other stuff on the twitter site seems legit. Artist interviews. Promotion of upcoming smooth jazz shows, etc. so I wouldn't think this would be some sort of prank.

Any thoughts? I can't see smooth jazz returning to a regular FM signal in NYC given how the format is dying across the country, but perhaps a rimshot station or something like 87.7? I wouldn't think they're talking about an HD2 station, since if you're counting that, NYC has had 101.9 HD2 for awhile now.

This is just a guess: Perhaps WFAS FM 103.9, after moving its tower to the Bronx? WFAS FM is currently an A/C station broadcasting from Hartsdale, NY. It would not make sense to stay A/C once it starts broadcasting from New York, with competition from Lite FM, and Fresh FM. Perhaps smooth jazz is one of the few viable music formats that is currently not available in the area. The format may not be profitable enough for a class B station in the area, but may work on a smaller signal, such as that of WFAS FM.
