Hello all, how are you all doing? I hope all is good with all of you. Please tell us your thoughts anout this radio show? Do you like it? Why and why not? What may she do to make her show better? Do you not like it? Why and why not? What may she do to make it better?


I listen to her show on Smooth Jazz 107.5? from Atlanta. They have her on there Saturday night 10pm-Midnight. I understand her radio show is five hours long. I understand the affilates can either run it for one hour during the week, or two-five hours on weekends.


I love her show, her show plays some niiiiceeee Smooth Jazz/Chill Music, and it is not (put you to sleep/boring music) It is very nice music to listen to. Yes it is relaxing, but some songs, you can get into it and bop your head to the music, you can feel the music. Some of the music has good vibes.

For those of you who are not certain of this "Chill Music" Personnally, to me, it sound like. You know when you watch "Survivor" on CBS TV. You know when they have the elimination, when they vote the people off, then that person has to leave. (hen at the end of the whow, they show the campers going back to their camp site.-Well, the music they use during that part, to me, it sound like the music Mindi Abair playes on her show "Chill With Mindi Abair" Another example, might be??, the theme music to CBS TV show "Amazing Race"

All in all, I love her show, I love the way she talk. She express herself very well, she speak very clearly, she sound very professional. The way she talk, it make you want to listen to her more and more and more.
I love her show.

So check each station and each station website when you have free time. As I stated in the begginning of this, I listen to her show Saturday nights 10pm-Midnight on Smooth Jazz 107.5 Atlanta. (That's eastern time)

The music director for the show is the Music Director for Jones Radio SJ format. That should tell you something especially if you read the Jones vs BA network comments.

I'm not a chill fan myself but what is cool and different about this show from most syndicated shows is that Laurie Cobb and Mindi actually choose the music. Other than JazzTrax and Quiet Music that's pretty rare these days. I wasn't aware of that until I did the interview with Mindi. She's really into chill and when they approached her she said she wanted to have some input on the music and they said yes.
 
I never knew that @Nock and AnotherCat. I am familuare with JRN and Laurie Cobb. All are excelent to listen too

I love listening to this show and Mindi Abair, I think she's great host and artist. Maybe there is hope for FM radio, lol. A chill type format would be good for the HD sub-channels, but of course the corporate radio boneheads still don't get it.

I owe my exposure to chill to Laurie. Exchanged emails and calls when she was involved with the start up of BLU 102.9 in Sante Fe New Mexico. Was a very cool station that used to stream. If you listen to Jones, you will occasionally catch a very cool tune that she fits in. A promoter put me in touch with her when I was trying to find a particular song I had heard on a Jones affiliate on vacation. Track was Home by Zero 7. That is where it all went wrong for me :)
