I read some stuff on one of the highest number of Chinese speakers in Southern California is in the San Gabriel Valley. It's one of the places mentioned as having a "suburban Chinatown" meaning that it's Chinatown outside of Los Angeles city proper in this case.

A good way to judge the Asian population of a given state or region is to go to Google Maps and type in either "99 Ranch Supermarket" or "85 C Bakery Cafe" (the owner believes the best temperature to brew coffee is 85 degrees Celsius). Both of these stores specifically target the more affluent Asian-American communities in the U.S.

There are plenty in California, mostly LA and Orange County, followed by The Bay Area and San Diego. Also in the West in Seattle, Portland and Phoenix. There are a few in the New York area and Washington DC. And you will see them in Texas, specifically Dallas, Houston and Austin.

I read somewhere that the largest "Chinatown" in North America is in Vancouver...but I realize that this, of course, may not be correct...

Don't forget the numbers 8 and 88. There's a strong Chinese superstition about the positive influence of 8, and 88 doubles the good vibes. I remember an incident at a Chinese buffet in Wallingford, CT, in which a child of one of the owners was kidnapped and taken to New York City. The kidnappers, who were known to the family, demanded a ransom of $88,888! Fortunately, police figured out what was going on and the kid was found and returned safely without so much as 8 dollars changing hands.

I wish we could go back to 2005. Much simpler time back then
Yep. That was when even a mid-rated PD in LA could pull in a mid-6-figure salary!

i was in 8th grade earlier in 2005. I’ll never forget one of my teachers literally had us raise our hands and asked us which radio station was our favorite, and the station that got the most, was the one we’d listen to in our class on Fridays. This was in L.A. I chose the best one, Indie 103.1. But, power 106 won the majority vote and always did
