CHiPS star Larry Wilcox charged with Securities Fraud

Erik Estrada is now working fulltime as a real life cop in suburban Lynchburg, VA (inspired by his time as a TV cop on NBC and as a Fox reality show cop in Muncie, IN a few years back). It was also no secret that he and Wilcox didn't get along well while filming CHiPs, so it's just a bit surprising that no one asked Estrada to come to LA and read Wilcox his rights. ;)

Really? Isn't Estrada a little long in the tooth to be starting a career as a policeman. He was born in 1949, which makes him 61.

Wow and I was introduced to him just this past Monday at 10-4 day in Hollywood. I shook his hand.

I think I'll wash it.

Sounds like the town is pretty small and this could be a Sheriff of Mayberry type position.

Erik Estrada isn't the only celebrity to get interested in law enforcement.

Steven Seagal is a reserve deputy sheriff who works part-time on patrol in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, his home just outside New Orleans, and also allows A&E along for the ride in the course of his patrols for a reality show he's starring in that's currently in production and on the air.

Shaquille O'Neal has served as a deputy sheriff in Dade County, Florida (metro Miami), has an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in public administration, and says he'd like to be in law enforcement fulltime when he retires from the NBA.

There have been those who've gone the other way as well...actor Dennis Farina is a real-life retired Chicago police officer who hung up his badge to go into show business. Producer/writer Joseph Wambaugh was a real-life lieutenant in the Los Angeles PD whose first commander was future LA Mayor Tom Bradley.

Guess you never know if the guy who pulls you over for doing 50 in a 30 mile zone may be famous. or may one day become famous.

you overlooked Ken Osmond, who played Eddie Haskel on "Leave it to Beaver". he joined the LAPD in 1970.
