Check out the sabo mason Website for story from 1966 about the Chocolate FM format.

The story link on this site works but the Website links seem to indicate the sites were never created. Maybe the Chocolate FM format never took off and Walter is trying it out during this stunting period on the two stations just to get reaction. If this is old news to some it was posted before and the poster called Chocolate FM as a Walt Sabo inside joke. Any Thoughts now that
"1019 FM New, Chocolate FM" liners are being used on the air more often.
 
"chocolatefm.com" was only registered on July 2 and "diamond-fm.com" was never registered at all ..
Also .. 1966 = 2006 ..
 
Chocolate FM was yet another Sabo loser project that never happened. The guy just writes press releases and little of anything he's done in the last 10 or 20 years, with the possible exception of NJ 101.5 has been successful. In fact, pretty sure NJ 101.5's ratings have been going up since he was recently shown the door.
 
Being that the 101.9 frequency has had over a dozen formats in the past 40 years in NYC, you would think that they wouldn't play around with the format of the week. I say bring back the 'smooth jazz'. At least that had numbers and a loyal listenership that has been flushed from the OTA dial. Thank goodness for MP3 players.

It's a Dance music site featuring various DJ. The site is in english and what looks like Russion.

Like someone said about a week ago in another thread Chocolate FM could be a Walt Sabo inside Joke during what most on this board still think is the Stunting portion of this format change.

I didn't hear any newscasts this morning between 7:45 and 9am. as mentioned in another topic. I did hear the new Weatherman Scott Derrick.

That should be the new format on 101.9 come Aug 1! 8)
 
My guess on what the underlying meaning of "Chocolate FM" is, the well known fact that women crave chocolate ;) therefore, they will crave the new channel.
 
Anybody remember the "Chocolate" cell phones?
