CHR hits in movie soundtracks?

We don't have many CHR hits featured in movies or movie soundtracks these days, certainly not like you used to see in years/decades past.

The last major hit I can think of was Eminem "Lose Yourself" featured in 8 Mile in 2002. Just before that, the remake of "Lady Marmalade" was featured in the Moulin Rouge Soundtrack in 2001.

The only more recent onesI can think of are:

Paramore "Decode" featured in Twilight in late 2008/early 2009. That only peaked at #38 in CHR/Pop Airplay.

M.I.A. "Paper Planes" was a bigger hit thanks that it was used in the trailer for Pineapple Express. However, it was not featured in the movie itself or the movie soundtrack. It was on Slumdog Millionaire though.

Am I missing any others over the last 5-10 years?

I should also add that "Paper Planes" peaked in CHR airplay a couple of months before Slumdog Millionaire hit most theatres.

Thanks, I overlooked that one.

A couple more I thought of. Chad Krogeger & Josey Scott's "Hero" came from Spiderman (2002) and Dashboard Confessional "Vindicated" came from Spiderman 2 (2004).

"Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence from Daredevil (2003)
"Can't Fight the Moonlight" by LeAnn Rimes from Coyote Ugly (2000)

That's all I could find. Looks like the 90s had more movie songs that were big.

I'm old enough to remember how popular the soundtracks to Urban Cowboy and Footloose were back in the 80's as far as spawning hit songs.

Any ideas why movie soundtracks nowadays haven't had the same success as back in the day?

Nelly's "Shake Ya Tailfeather" hit #1 on CHR in 2003, its from the soundtrack of Bad Boys II.

Drake's "Forever" and Ester Dean's "Drop It Low", peaked #21 and #31 respectively on CHR in 2009 from the soundtrack of the Lebron James Documentary More Than A Game.

There are many good examples in here, but many of them aren't songs written specifically to tie into a film, like "Hero" or "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing." There seems to be a correlation between the death of rock and the death of the summer blockbuster rock hit, of which "Hero" was the last example, a song that receives little to no gold airplay.

I just saw a commerical last night for the movie "Step Up 3D" coming out in Aug that has the new Flo Rida song "Club Can't Handle Me" and it also had Trey Songz new song "Already Taken"
