CHR Radio - Doing Great In The Ratings Overall

First of all, gotta salute G-105 Raleigh - the highest rated CHR in the Top 50 markets. It ranks first in its market with nearly an 8 share.

Alright, I'm gonna recap the Top 20 markets, and then highlight other noteworthy markets/stories pertaining to CHR radio.
In NYC and L.A. Z-100 and 102.7 KIIS FM are both are tied in second place with a 4.6 share, ahd have held steady/stable ratings for awhile now. They also rank AHEAD of their markets Rhythmics. Kiss FM Chicago is also ranked ahead of itse market's Rhythmic, and is pretty close ratings-wise to the market's Top 5.
106.1 Kiss FM Dallas currently ranks second in its market, and while it's off a tad bit, it still retains nearly a 5 share.
In Houston the monthly PPMs reveal a very bright picture for 104 KRBE - it's just a tenth of a share behind the market's second ranked station, and is second overall in cume.
Philly is a bit of a sore spot - expect some changes in the coming months at Q-102. We'll also have to wait and see how the ratings turn out for Hot 99.5 Washington and Q-100 Atlanta in the coming months. We're already seeing some very minor changes at KBKS Seattle, and I suspect more changes are underway

The highest rated CHR in the Top 20 markets is Kiss 108 Boston, good for first with a 6.5 share.
Y-100 Miami is experiencing a tremendous rebound, which might even lead to it possibly pulling ahead of Rhythmic Power 96 soon.
104.7 Kiss FM Phoenix is third in its market, which is a pretty big deal - it's been ages since a CHR/Pop has ranked this high in this market.
101.3 KDWB Minneapolis ranks 4th and is in the mid 5 shares.
Channel 933 San Diego continues to rank far higher then the markets' Rhythmics, and holds nearly 4 shares.
106.1 BLI Long Island ranks 2nd in its market with a solid 4.5 share.
93.3 FLZ Tampa was off a bit again, but still good for 4th and ahead of its arch nemesis, Rhythmic Wild 98.7
St. Louis's Z-107.7 could be doing a bit better, though it is up a tenth of a share, amd almost back in the 4s.

So what else is happening? Since there were so many CHRs enjoying good books, I'll first quickly mention a few "bad apples".
Are changes coming to KC 101 New Haven? The station is down to a 3.7 share. These are some of the station's lowest ratings ever. In fact, Hartford's Kiss 95.7 pulled ahead of it in its own backyard. Back in Hartford, Kiss 95.7 continues its move up, and is now in the mid 5 shares.
Seems like it was a pretty disastrous book in Richmond as Q-94 dropped more then 2 shares from the upper 5s to the lower 3s.
The ratings at Kiss in Cincinnati aren't too bad, but aren't what they used to be either. The station now trails Adult Leaning Q-102.
Bad book for the CHRs in Harrisburg. While Hot 92 dropped nearly a share to a 3.1, 99.3 Kiss FM tumbled from a 4.8 to a 2.9...
B-95.1 Macon droped from a 3.9 to a 2.6 share...
105.5 JYY Concord lost almost half its shares - down from a 5.0 to a 2.7
Q-101.7 Albany, Ga is down from a 3.1 to a 2.3...
Q-95.1 Meridian took a dive as it fell from a 5.7 to a 3.3

And now, the good stuff :)

Former Y-100 Miami PD Dan Mason seems to be finding a lot of success at a CHR that got in some hot water not too long ago - 107.9 The End Sacramento, which made an impressive leap to 5th place with nearly a 5 share.
Gotta mention Alice 107-7 Little Rock - the station is up to an 8 share, good for second place in the market.
103.7 The Q Birmingham seems to be up to its highest ratings yet - over a 6 share, good for 4th.
Someone must be doing something right at Channel 94-5 Dayton - after peaking at a low 2.1 shares two books ago, the station rebounded strongly in the last book, and is now up to a 3.4.
Twin Falls, Idaho is a newly measured market. KTPZ Music Monster 94.3 is tied for second place there with nearly an 8 share.
Another of the new measured markets is Hot Springs, Ark where 105.9 KLAZ is 2nd with nearly a 9 share.

One hell of a book in Charleston, WV as Electric 102.7 is up from a 5.0 to a 9.1 share!
Great book for Wild 102.9 Reno as it ascends from a 4.5 to a 6.1, good for 4th.
Sitting pretty at the top in Anchorage's ratings, and up from a 5.7 to a 7.5, it's 101.3 KGOT.
95-1 KHOP hopped from a 2.1 to a 3.5 share in Stockton. The station is based out of Modesto where it was up to a 5 share. Oh, and it also has a 4 share in Merced.
103.3 The Vibe Daytona Beach is up to its highest ratings ever, if I recall correctly, with a 3.8 share.
Hot 101 Youngstown zooms from a 4.5 to a 6.6 share, over a share bump up. Good for fourth.
Great book for CHR in Duluth. Mix 108 was up from a 5.8 to a 7.3, while 92.1 The Beat was up from a 2.9 to a 5.3.

Mix 100.7 Terre Haute went up from a 10 to nearly a 15 share.
107.5 Kiss FM Des Moines now ranks first in its market with a huge 8.5 share.
Hot 96 Evansville jumps 2.3 shares - from a 7 to a 9.3.
Huge rebound book in Wilmington - 93.7 STW goes from a 6.2 to an 8.8, good for first.
After jumping a full share to a 6.8 last book, K-92 Roanoke jumps eve higher, nearly a 1.5 share jump as it now has an 8.2 share.
FM 97 Lancaster made a great leap from a 6.5 to a 9 share, good for second.
Rockford's 97-5 ZOK jumped from an 8.6 to a 12 share, good for first, in one of America's most underserved radio markets...
K-Fox 95.5 Lufkin jumps up 3 shares taking in 14.6 shares, good for 2nd place.
107.1 Kiss FM Sioux City is now tied for 4th place, moving from a 6.3 to a 9.3
Good book for CHR radio in Cookeville. Magic 98.5 is 2nd as it goes up from an 11.2 to a 12.5. Meanwhile 106.9 Kicks FM jumps from a 3.7 to a 4.8 share.
XL 93 Grand Forks was up more then 3.5 shares. It's number one in its market with a 14.6 share.
In Mason City, IA 98.7 Kiss FM either debuted with a 7.9, or jumped from last book's 6.5 shares. Either way looks good.

Atlantic City's Adult leaning CHR, 95-1 AYV moved up 2.5 shares to a 7.5 in its market.
Also jumping nearly 2.5 shares is 107.1 The Monkey in Gulfport/Biloxi - up from a 3.5 to a 5.9
U-93 South Bend is up 1.5 shares to an 8.8, good for third.
103.3 Kiss FM Midland-Odessa is up nearly 2 shares and gets a total of 6.4 shares.

101.5 CIL Carbondale jumped nicely from a 4.6 to a 6.4, good for 4th place.
Kiss 95.7 Wheeling, WV jumped 2 shares upwards to a 7.8.
93.7 Kiss FM Harrisnburg is up from a 4 to a 6.6 share
Q-97.9 Portland, Maine is making a good recovery. After losing nearly half its shares last book, its up over 2 shars this time to a 6.2.

Mix 93.3 Kansas City cotinues its rebound, as it moves back in the 5 shares.
99.7 DJX Louisville finally managed to move back into the 5 share range in the last book, and continues to climb a bit further upwards, good for 4th.
Adult CHR B-104 Allentown has nearly a 10 share, good for third in the most underserved radio market in the country...
In nearby Wilkes Barre, 98.5 KRZ was back on top rocketing to a 7.7 share.
Electric 94.9 in Tennessee's Tri-Cities are is almost up to a 6 share, good for 4th.
Bob 93.3 in the Coastal/Greenville area of NC breaks into the mid 4 shares, good for 5th.
Canton's beloved Q-92 is up nicely to a 6.2 share, its highest ratings yet I believe, good for 4th.
K-104 commands nearly a 10 share in the Newburgh market. It ranks first in Poughkeepsie, where the station is based.
103.3 KFR Kalamazoo stays at number 1, and moves up to the mid 12 shares.

Many other CHRs saw healthy books, where they either stayed in a strong position, or moved a bit upwards in the right direction.
Hope to see more CHRs enjoy success in the coming months.
