It was a great trend for CHR/Pop stations, especially the Rhythmic leaning ones in the major and large markets. In fact, Rhythmic leaning CHR/Pop stations fared BETTER then their Rhythmic/Crossover counterparts in some places!
Channel 95-5 Detroit is FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER currently the top rated station in its market
93-7 KRQ Tucson managed to get a 9 share, good for second place
103.7 Kiss FM Milwaukee is currently ranked SECOND PLACE in Milwaukee, and the top rated FM in its market
Z-107.7 St. Louis is FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ranked third in its market with a whopping 5 share!
The new Hot 95.7 Houston is already cuming over a million listeners though that seems to have little impact on rival 104 KRBE, which saw some increase in cume.
Q-102 Philly cumes over 1.1 million listeners, just 10 K below rival Wired 96.5 (a CHR/Pop leaning Rhythmic). The stations rank 3rd and 4th respectively in cume.
Amazing trend for WNOK 104.7 in Columbia, SC with nealrly a 7 share (good for second place).
Huge trend for Bob 93.3 Greenville-New Bern (NC), up to its HIGHEST ratings, and sitting pretty in the market's Top 3 with over an 8 share
Fly 92 Albany is up to its highest ratings IN YEARS, just one tenth below the market's second highest ranked station. WFLY easily beats CHR/Pop rival 102.3 Kiss FM (largely automated), and the market's Rhythmic station.
Even though 96.1 Kiss FM Pittsburgh is now facing some serious competition from the recently reincarnated B-94, it's been on a big upswing to nearly a 5 share, and just a tenth of a share below the market's Top 5. B-94 is sadly stalling with a 2.5 share.
Channel 93-3 is up to nearly a 5 share (good for second place overall) in the ultra competitive San Diego market. Meanwhile the market's TWO Rhythmics are ranked far below, with one of them hitting an alltime low of a 1.6 share (on a full market signal!)
104.7 Kiss FM Phoenix stays flat with a 3.8, tied for 6th overall, but faring much better then the market's TWO Rhythmics (both tumbled below the 2 share mark)
Even though Austin 96.7 Kiss FM dipped two tenths of a share, it's still Top 5 in its market, and far above the market's TWO Rhythmics.
Kiss 106.1 Seattle is finally on a REAL upswing, up to its best numbers in a couple of years, above the 3.5 share, and back in the market's Top 10
Radio Now 100.9 is up nicely into the mid 4s, the kind of ratings the station saw when it was on the better 93.1 signal not too long ago...
102.5 WFMF Baton Rouge is up to nearly a 6.5 share, good for 5th overall and within reach of the market's Top 3
103.5 Kiss FM Chicago is sounding hotter then ever and is still pulling ahead of B-96.
Y-100 Miami is back in the 4 shares, and just two tenths of a share below legendary Rhythmic Power 96.
Q-100 Atlanta FINALLY breaks the 3 share, has already overtaken Star 94 in the ratings, and will likely soon overtake Rhythmic 95-5 The Beat as well (though Q-100's musically conservative as it's a Cumulus owned station)
Z-100 New York continues to perform extremely well with nearly a 5 share, good for second place overall. Nearby 106.1 BLI Long Island is closing in on first place in its market with over a 5 share (Z-100 is ranked right below it, although a full share beneath it)
Kiss 95.7 Hartford finally breaks the 5 share barrier, currently tied for 6th overall
Mix 106.5 Baltimore has been adding more Rhythmic titles, and has evolved from Hot AC to an adult leaning CHR - it's also up in the ratings to nearly a 5 share
102.7 KIIS FM is pulling over a 5 share, and despite what others may have posted this station does VERY well with the 25-54 demo.
Great book for the Tri Cities, TN Electrinc 94.9, which is up to nearly a 6 share, good for 4th place overall.
107.1 Kiss FM Cincy is back to nearly a 6 share, good for 6th overall (just a tenth away from the market's Top 5)
101.3 KDWB Minneapolis-St. Paul is Top 4, and closing in on a 6 share
98.9 Kiss FM Louisville bounced back up nearly a full share though is still ranked below heritage (and great sounding) CHR 99.7 DJX, which was off a bit but is still Top 5.
The 2 stations with notable declines were 106.1 Kiss FM Dallas and 93-3 FLZ Tampa. KHKS is the homebase of Kidd Kraddick in the morning, and while the station is still Top 5 it has fallen below the 4 share for the first time in ages. FLZ is the home station of the MJ Morning Show, and the main reason the station slipped in the ratings is b/c Bubba The Lovesponge (once FLZ's famed nightjock in the mid 90s before pulling morning at 98 Rock) is back in the market.
Q-107.5 Memphis is sadly down to its lowest ratings even...less then a 1.5 share
