CHR Sales Question

Hi,
I represent a small town CHR in Pennsylvania and we were hoping to enlist the help of the BIG BOYS in New York to give their own unique perspectives on an age old dilemna.

Day in and day out we hear from the sales team...can't sell the product because the advertiser thinks we are "too kiddy". Suggestions, tips and tricks to show the world that the adults are indeed listening too?

The sales staff just seems to shut down and say "well ok...they just won't buy"...how do we break them of that???

I think we need more info on your station. If its a CHR/R, then it might just be too "kiddy". If its a solid 18-34 CHR though...ya might wanna mention that the target can be upwards of a 35 year old mother of 2 driving to and fro soccer practice, and hell...you even have 40 something who listen because they honestly like the format, or they're just trying to stay cool (like my mother and the CHR in Nashville...I still don't know why she loves Ludacris.

Sorry...its a straight ahead mainstream CHR. No rhythmich lean, no alternative lean...right down the middle!

The trouble is...we trended upward last book...did pretty good...but give numbers to a car dealer and he says "ah...those are flawed..no one I KNOW listens to it!...funny thing is that same guy will turn around and buy country in a heartbeat...Honestly whas is TODAY'S HIT COUNTRY if not a Nashville version of CHR...its pretty much Top 40 radio...just the Country Top 40! Same songs every 3 hours...sounds familiar to most CHR's I know huh???
