Here are some CHR stations with names that include their full call letters, spelled out on the air all or most of the time when the station is identified --
KDWB "101.3 KDWB" Minneapolis
WNCI "WNCI 97.9" Columbus (listening live, I just heard a sweeper that said simply "97.9"...is that common?)
WSTW "93.7 WSTW" Wilmington
WVAQ "102 WVAQ" Morgantown, WV
What are some of the others? Stations that eliminate one or more letters (i.e. WPRO Providence calling itself "92 PRO-FM", KRQQ Tucson using "93.7 KRQ") don't count for this discussion. Neither do stations whose names simply resemble their calls, such as KIIS.
And yes, I know, these things don't matter to average listeners. This is purely a "radiogeek" question.
