CHR Stations which won't play songs in Top 40

What CHR stations do you know which refuse to play a certain song/songs in the current top 40? I can think of KSYN in Joplin which wouldn't play Hunter Hayes, Mumford and Sons, Muse, "Feel Again" by One Republic and (at least, so far) Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. What stations do you know of that do that?

Almost every CHR in the country ignores songs in the Top 40 - the challenge IMO would be to find a station literally playing every single Mediabase Top 40 song

Hot 100.9 in Richmond takes constant on-air jabs at Q94 - yet refuses to play about 1/3 of the top 20. It's like Hot can't make up it's mind to go full chr/rhythmic or not.

KBKS has been playing "Can't Hold Us" Macklemore every HOUR! He's from Seattle, but give me a break! We need variety on Top 40, not just Can't Hold Us, Come and Get It and Radioactive every 30 minutes...

That's CHR in the 2010s, man - Macklemore is #1 right now BTW

If you don't like the repetition, just listen to Hot AC or Alternative

Actually It's "Blurred Lines" for three weeks now on the Hot 100.

That's why in the May ARBs, KBKS ranks 9th 6+ but jumps up to #3 in cume rankings with a strong 813,000 listeners. It seems to be programmed well guaranteeing at least two powers in every quarter hour. Craigbebo, how would you program it differently without losing the cume?

The original poster is correct if we are going by the Mediabase CHR chart. Can't Hold Us WAS number one thorough yesterday but as of this morning Come and Get It jumped from 3-1.

This is the CHR forum, and he's discussing airplay on a CHR station - not sure what the Hot 100 has to do with it...

KBKS is losing (extremely badly) to KQMV, which has Can't Hold Us at 116x a week, Come And Get It at 118x a week, and Radioactive at 97x a week - that's probably why they're keeping their spins numbers so high - if KBKS were winning, they might be able to bring their spin numbers down a little, but right now they're still trending down

Well, as another user said, they play "17 songs" from the top 40. The other 23 are kicked to the curb. We need more variety on Top 40 not just Can't Hold Us every 45 minutes. In some cases, more people are using iPods because they get sick and tired of hearing Thrift Shop, Come and Get It, and Lego House every hour.

Your problem is that KQMV is #1 12+ in Seattle, with a playlist that repeats the same songs over and over, so apparently, most CHR listeners in Seattle disagree with you (unfortunately) :-\

You guys have two Hot ACs, an Alternative, and a AAA, though - I'd just listen to those, since they're designed for people who listen for longer periods of time

The few stations that I've heard who try to literally play "All The Hits" sound kinda messy and automated.

And you can thank PPM for making radio less exciting to listen to, as PPM data shows everyday people want to hear the same hits over and over. Good thing I can stream out of market stations in my office.
