Where's a CHR-POP in denver? What might flip 2 chr-pop?

We lost our CHR/Pop when Clear Channel flipped KFMD/KISS 95.7 to Hurban KMGG/Mega 95.7 in April. CHR/Pop has never faired well here in Denver but with the numbers that Mega has been pulling in, I bet CC is saying "what have we done?" It would be nice for one of the move-in's (101.5 KBRU or 107.1 KSIR) to launch a CHR/Pop to fill the void. In the meantime, we've got the 2 Hot AC's in KIMN/MIX 100 and KALC/Alice 105.9 that some what fill the CHR/Pop void here in Denver.<P ID="signature">______________

You can get KKMG 98.9, and even KSME 96.1 in most parts of the city.

KKMG/Magic FM Springs and KSME/KISS FM Northern Colorado

Yes, you can get KKMG/Magic FM from the Springs and KSME/KISS FM Northern Colorado in Denver but with spotty coverage. I'm fortunate that I can pick up both because I live in the northern suburb of Thornton and can get pick up both clear. There are other parts in the city where you can get neither and of course most Denver listeners don't know of either station. I just recently turned a friend of mine onto Magic FM but you'd be surprised at how many people in the Denver area don't know about Magic or KISS FM Northern Colorado. Neither station has shown up in the Denver Arbs so it will be nice to have a Denver area CHR/Pop back in Denver.

There isn't one, at least not in Denver proper. Honestly, I wouldn't look for another one anytime soon. Mainstream CHR hasn't played well in Denver for quite some time. Some people say it's due to the glut of hot AC's. However, I seem to remember Y-108 faring poorly against the rhythmic-heavy KS-104 15 years ago, which was before Alice and Mix 100.

When I lived in Morrison I couldnt get KKMG 98.9, due to being behind a huge mountain, However, I couldnt get 96.5 (THE PEAK) their, either, even though its one of Denvers strongest stations. I could get KKMG really good in Arvada though, and thats in the northern suburbs. I never had a problem with Ksme 96.1 that I recall, but at that time, it was a Country station, so I never really listened to it.

I'm not sure how well 98.9 performs in the Springs numbers (I can't pick it up here in Commerce City), but I know KSME "Kiss" 96.1 does way better in No. CO. than the old KGLL Eagle 96 did playing country. That 2000? "flip" was one of the wisest ones I've ever seen in Colorado.
