Bob Raissman, in today's (Sunday July 29) New York Daily News, reports that Boomer Esiason has reached an agreement in principle to replace Don Imus as morning man on New York's WFAN. Later in the column, he mentions that Boomer "will be joined by Chris Carton, a shock jock currently working on New Jersey's WKYW-FM."
 
Why not just bring back Sid Rosenberg and runite him with Craig Carton to make "The Sports Guys" again? Now that would be a pretty amusing show for the FAN.

Re: Craig Carton to WFAN?

Coming back from lunch I listened to The Jersey Guys for the first few minutes today in the 2'oclock hour and it's apparent Craig Carton doesn't read what he's talking about. He said twice three boys died and one girl was wounded. Actually the friends in Newark were 2 boys and 1 girl who were executed with another girl who was wounded. Craig identified the wounded girl as a girlfiend. Actually she was the sister of one of the victims. What's worse is that Ray Rossi didn't correct him. Now either Ray didn't know himself or he was to busy playing his do nothing add nothing role as Craig's laugh track and yeah ah hummm man. What an embarrassment for NJ101.5 to have 2 hosts Carton and Rossi who don't know what they're talking about. Hurts the credibility of the staion where the news department had it right. I wonder if WFAN will care or not if Craig puts mis information out if he does go there. I don't see any radio station going near Carton with his history of boycotts and racial insults. Looking back the management at 101.5 now look like fools for keeping him as long as they have.
 
Sound kind of bitter don't you think? I would have to say that "The Jersey Guys" ratings speak for themselves. They are still around because they are funny, entertaining, and I'm sure they make Millenium butt loads of revenue. Get a grip!! Craig Carton will do just fine on WFAN and Ray Rossi will do just as good in the event Craig Carton leaves.
 
The Jersey Guys were wrong about the facts and that's amateur radio and bad for a flagship station like 101.5. It appears their ratings are trending lower and they seem to have fewer commercials per hour.

Do me a favor? Show me any talk show that gets facts right 100 percent of the time. You have said time and time again that you hate 101.5 but you constantly post direct examples, like you listen to the station with a notebook just waiting to slam them him.

If Carton does leave, will you then start the "Hire Mary Walter" campaign?

BTW, the accused murderer was an illegal immigrant who had been in-and-out of jail on a variety of charges, including pedophilia. But please, feel free to accuse Craig of hate crimes because of La Cutcha Gotcha.
 
I guess the writing is on the wall since Casey Bartholomew was on with Ray the other day. The few times in the past that Craig was out and Ray wasn't, Ray did the show on his own, or he had a someone who was already an employee (i.e Joel Katz) sit in with him. The fact that Casey was there was obviously an attempt to see if the two could work together. I didn't hear much of it, but I did hear them doing a "Name that Tune" hour. Real creative. Just what we need, "Jersey Guys Lite", with Casey and Ray stealing lame stuff from the Dennis and Judi show.

Craig Carton was off from New Jersey 101.5 on Friday (supposedly on vacation) and again today.

According to this week's NERW, CBS has all but announced that Boomer & Carton will be the new morning show at The Fan.
