Chris Cislick WBZ's Real Voice of Reason

When everyone's using black normal size 2 font, using bold size 3 made it look like he was yelling at us. And then he was yelling at me.

I know that guy

.......btw there used to be a reg. on this board who liked blue
font;last part of his screen name same as surname of
famous Cinc. Reds catcher.......

I think you must be thinking of TSBench, radio raconteur, wit, mensch, all-around great guy, and lover of Harvard commas. IIRC, he used to post lift quotes in a different color, to separate his words from those of the person to whom he was responding. I also seem to remember that whenever he used 'big' words like 'reactionary' and 'nihilist' he actually knew what they meant, so I'm pretty sure he's not this 'tilden' guy.

Regards,
TSB

And I recall he could never figure out how to quote correctly! LOL!

I believe yelling is denoted by all caps. But thank you for being considerate of someone with a vision problem.

I was unaware that you had a vision problem, so I apologize. Perhaps we could adopt it as the standard type, then it wouldn't stand out and give the appearance of yelling.

Reveal, evaluate studio computer technologies for call in broadcasts!

WBZ -AM Boston Radio 1030 local CBS 's Rea routinely investigates callers with studio computer technology that raises questions about spontaneity, privacy, doxing. Mechanisms of studio setups for call in broadcasts should be revealed and evaluated. Better to have a great generous conversationalist than the worn broadcaster substituting practiced riffs for inspired inventive improvisational skills.

Source please?

What is your source for this? Where are you getting your information?

A station that uses caller ID for purposes of noting recurring callers and pranks, is not "investigating"....if that's what you are inferring. There is no 'spontaneity' as they have "call screeners" who makes sure that the callers are appropriate for the discussion and show. Privacy is your own decision, if you make a call you have to decide if you want to share your number with the person you are calling.

Otherwise no one knows what you are talking about Zak.....

The only "technology" used is the same as most of us have to know who is calling... in other words, "caller ID".

As thezak said, major talk stations have a call screener who has a computer with which they can "label" the calls for the screen of the host in the studio. The screener makes sure the caller is not drunk, is coherent and can express themselves about the topic currently on the air. They also screen out bad quality cellular calls if they can. The screening software can often be used to look up the number in the station database to see how often they have called and if the call was a good one. It's the screener's job to decide who gets a chance at being answered on the air.

Several of the talk software packages can also be used to put a repeat caller of no value or a moron on "hold hell" where they will sit until they hang up.

But, other than the caller ID, there is nothing going on as to determining the listener's identity.

Wimmex,

Thanks to both you and David Eduardo for decoding WTF "Zak" was trying to say. My head almost exploded trying to parse a couple of his sentences.
