I was trying to find some info. on Chris Jones. I haven't been able to find any old articles on him does anyone have a link to any? He is running the same story about sponsor my show and I can get you involved with buccaneer players, you know the rap. I'm trying to show someone I know what he's about but would like something on paper.

It's the basic rule of journalism: Check the facts.

That's what we did when we heard Chris Jones, co-host of "Inside the Locker Room with Derrick Brooks" (Sunday, 9:30 a.m., WTOG-Ch. 44), had played in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons.

First, the Atlanta media guide: Jones was not listed on the team's all-time roster.

Next, a call to the Falcons' P.R. people: No one had heard of Jones.

Then, a conversation with WTOG production manager Greg Blackburn: "From what I understand," he said, "Chris played for the Falcons for eight years."

I doubt they have this stuff archived, but a few years back Channel 28 Action News did a series of stories on Jones from clients who he had ripped off by promsing a Derrick Brooks appearance and then showing up with a third or fourth stringer.

He also apparently pocketed some proceeds that were allegedly supposed to to a charity. Also, he talks about his access to the Bucs, but the team revoked his media credentials years ago.
