Chris Krok finds work

I'm surprised no one has picked up on this. Chris Krok, late of WSB-AM, will team up with Ron Frazier to do AM drive on WMAC-AM in Macon. Cumulus has been struggling with
WMAC's morning show since Kenny Burgamy and Jami Gaudet left a few months back. Frazier was brought in along with Shane McBride.
The duo never really caught on with the locals. McBride got caught with a toke or two and was dismissed by Cumulus, opening the door for Mr. Krok. There's more but I've posted the additional information to the "Georgia" board.

Nope. It hasn't been WMAZ since Gannett sold off the radio properties years ago. The calls were changed first to WMWR then rather quickly to WMAC.

I'm surprised the AJC food writer didn't picked up on this. My buddy Stan, late of Bacchanalia, has a new job as morning cook at Waffle House in Macon GA.

Who cares about Krok? He is a blip on Atlanta radio radar. The fact that he still is mentioned here at all is a Krok.

At least it was not another post about the greatness of oldies and what good times they evoke

Also don't be cracking on Stan I love his Truffle pancakes and the hash browns with acai berry and mascarpone froth are incredible. He is gaining a crowd also. After every waffle cooked he announces " This is waffle number 1,683 of the Stan the Man cooking shift."

Well worth the 2 1/2 hr. drive.

I love it when people get the jokes.

Consider this my audition to be third mic on the new 92.9 morning show when you take over as PD. This combined with my deep bass delivery will stand-up will offer great balance to Jimmy and Jane.

Neil;

Don't kill the messenger. Krok may have been a "blip" on Atlanta radio but his "move" to Macon still qualifies as something I thought might interest one or two posters on this board. I never listened to Mr. Krok and I never will. Still, I thought it might be acceptable to post here. I guess I was wrong.

Ah, poor fussbudget. I think you hurt her feelings.

I thought Chris Krok was pretty talented.
He will definitely push the buttons with the red neck racists demo.

I didn't think Krok was a good fit with Whisbee, and I could only handle so much of him. I'd say the same for WMAC, which IMO is the Whisbee of Macon. Guess we'll see. He's a good fit somewhere - I just don't know where!

Blip or not, thanks for the post!

Anyone know if Rick DiLorenzo will be heading to Macon w/Krok? If not, where did he end up?

I know where Executive Producer of KROKTALK, Ricky D a.k.a Rick diLorenzo ended up, oh yeah, that's me. After almost two years at WSB and 8 1/2 years at WGST producing for Dave Stone, Dr. Buff, Ian Punnett, Randy Cross, John Adams, Dr. Gene, Sam Memmolo, Margot King, Danny McNulty, Dottie Myers, Dr. Computer, Jeff Davis, Edgar Treiguts, Wes Durham, Jeff Hullinger, The Kimmer, Wayne No Offense, Pete Davis, Tom Hughes, Keith Kalland, Tom Clark, Jeremy Ferguson and The Regular Guys, I have moved on to a career in sales with McMaster Carr Supply Company in Atlanta.

Chris and I discussed me joining him where ever he landed, but since I have a bride that is a Cobb County native, two fantastic adopted little boys and a monthly house note, I knew moving was not an option. Chris and I have remained friends, in fact our oldest sons loved to play with each other. Thank you for your years of support as listeners to the programs I produced at WSB and WGST. I really enjoyed it. Keep in touch!

Warm Regards,

Rick diLorenzo
Former Exective Producer, Ricky D of KROKTALK with Chris Krok on News Talk 750 WSB and Former Assistant Program Director and Exective Producer "Eannie Meannie" of Planet Radio/News Radio/Braves Radio 640AM & 105.7 FM WGST

Yeah -- they'll love that far-right perspective he had (based on what I've read...I never actually heard him on the air).

That's quite the signature line you have there, Ricky D. Don't strain a back muscle lifting that thing up on the pedestal.

;D
