This should ramp up speculation about KICKIN' flipping formats - PD CHRIS O'KELLEY out after only 13 months at the station.

APEX certainly has no problem with changing horses mid-stream, do they?
 
I can promise you, Kickin 92-5 IS NOT changing formats. Apex is in the country battle for the long haul. Take this to the bank! 99.3 will be the Box!
 
How much longer will Apex be keeping Kickin around? Seems like Apex has been giving this station to long. Could we be seeing Mix or The Box going to 92.5 maybe.

I say Box will not go back to 925. I agree with radioman. i think apex is serious about Kickin the same way they are about Star and Chuck. Box going back to 925 would be assanine.
 
They are serious about country. They just hired a new morning show and moved him from the west coat. They wouldn't have done that if they were not in it for the long haul. Have ya checked out what it cost to move across the country? They do a lot of things wrong as a company and have issues that we don't have time to even post about, but they are in the country battle. Will they win it? That's the question, not if they are gonna stay in it!
 
I feel Apex regrets taking The Box away thats why they brought it back. Apex should had known when Cumulus took over at z93 Jamz. Figure when Cumulus let go of The Breafus Club that Apex would been all over that and place them at 92.5 The Box at the time.

As for country it can't be much longer that one of the three leave. Charlotte, Atlanta, Greensboro, Greenville, NC all have 2 country stations. And not to sound negative about Kickin had it on the other day and the dj didnt seem to have much energy before going into the next song. He said the station name and name of next song with no energy.
 
That's the status quo for quite a few stations locally. Same tired playlists, cramming too many ads into every break. "This sponsorship is sponsored by a sponsor and it all comes to you from our sponsored studio!"

It breaks my heart to hear the life support that radio is on these days. It's why I have fled to the internet and podcasts. Much better content, on demand, and still free.
