Chris Plante Fired; Joe Scarborough Comes to WMAL

Scarborough's recently syndicated show will air from 10AM-Noon starting Monday on 630 WMAL, according to DCRTV.com. The Grandy and Andy Show will now air from 5AM-10AM, and Chris Plante has been let go. This can only be viewed as an unfortunate destruction of local talk in the DC market, and the worst part is that Plante's show is being replaced by a syndicated show that places #2 among talk stations on its flagship, WABC, in New York with adults 25-54 with Glenn Beck on WOR beating Scarborough. I imagine the syndicated Laura Ingraham show on WTNT is very happy about this decision because there is no doubt WMAL listeners will change the station to hear a real conservative rather than a RINO like Scarborough.

Can anyone explain how this thread got over 1,100 views  without a single reply (until today)?

That is the same thing I was wondering, but it is something that I have noticed about the DC board. Anyways, how are all the talk raido fans in DC doing with this now that DC has only 1 local talk show when before Citadel took over, there were 3?

Also, what do you think about my prediction for higher Ingraham ratings on WTNT with the terrible Scarborough radio hsow on WMAL?

Well, I've been a listener to WMAL since I was a kid, the radios at home and in our cars never leave WMAL -- until now. Joe Scarborough and his sidekick Mika are a joke. Maybe they would do ok as an FM morning drive show. I'm not the biggest fan of Laura Ingraham, but I am now a litstenrer. I will continue listening to WMAL during other hours, but certailnly not the 10-noon stretch, and who knows, now that my dial has moved, I may find other programs to listen to in place of some of the WMAL offerings.
