Chris Shearer passes

The Chambersburg Public Opinion reports the death of Chris Shearer, dying of heart failure at age 50 on Saturday. Chris was a Chambersburg native who started his radio career at WCBG and was one of the original WIKZ-95 jocks, using the name Robin St. Christopher. He also worked in Reading and served a brief stint in the Spring of 1976 at WYCR as "Big Jim Brian". His last radio gig was at Hot Hits WFEC from 1982-84 as Chris Logan. At the time of his death, he was an engineer at WHTM. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

Sincere condolences to his family. What a sad day.

I worked with Chris at WCBG & WIKZ way back when. One of the truly nice guys in radio. And an excellent natural talent. Very sad to hear of his passing at such a young age. My condolences to his family and his many friends.

Totally shocking. I remember Chris's very first time on the air at WCBG. He followed me on the air one Saturday, he was a senior in high school at the time. I remember him as a very sharp kid, a nice guy with an excellent voice. Chris and Dave Bowders (who later also worked at WYCR and WFEC) were 2 Chambersburg High School seniors I worked with at WCBG "High Atop Radio Hill" at the time, in the early 70's. (What ever happened to Dave?) Another member of our crew was Shotgun Johnny Ringo, who went by his real name of Bob Ditto at the time. Utterly sad. My condolences to Chris's family.
