Chris Thomas

Hard to think it has been 8 years. Thanks to Steve Duemig for honoring Chris Thomas memory.

Probably not hard to remember since I think it is on the door leading into the "Chris Thomas" studio.
Doesn't he do his show from there every morning?

On the same note, yes, I miss Chris's wit. His presence and presentation was unique. Anyone can use sound effects but he was able to walk the fine line between "rodeo clown" and the serious business of sports. No one in sports talk radio has been able to hold my attention the way he did.

I'm sure there's a bar stool with his name on it at the big Press Box in the sky.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

I only did a few sports breaks for Chris when I filled in at the Animal, lo those many years ago, but it was always fun and Chris always treated me with great respect, perhaps paying me the ultimate compliment by rising up and farting during one of my updates!

Like most truly witty and funny people, Chris had far more depth than he usually displayed, but his work in the wake of the 9/11 attacks showed just how smart and learned he truly was. We are poorer for his loss.

As Groucho Marx once said "The good ones die young. The schlemiels live forever" We miss you Chris.

Remember regardless of the sports season at the beginning of his afternoon show, he would holler into the mic, "HUGH, HIRE A GENERAL MANAGER!" Very funny.
