Looks like Williams got an unannounced Vacation along with the RGs. Seems he greenlit the bit...

Think he'll get canned (pun intended)? Maybe he's to blame for the firing. I believe that as PD he should at least be held accountable...

That empty shell of a radio station has been rebooted continuously for the last 3 years.

The string of human wreckage that has been tossed from that joint in the last 3 years could fill a flaming 747.
 
Clear Channel should have put more time into making this decesion. If not for Larry and Eric, then for their station- 96rock. Removing The Regular Guys from 96rock right now is one of the worst things they could possibly do. Everybody keeps bringing up how bad WKLS' ratings got last time TRG were gone. It will be even worse this time, because back in the fall 04 book- 96rock did not have any direct competition.

On to the Chris Williams matter...where does this headline look familiar? Hopefully the same result will not occur this time.
Hopefully this is just a slap on the wrist. However, if they want to destroy 2 stations at once- they should fire him. He shouldn't even be PD at WKLS anymore- it would have been all right if it was just for a month or something---but what is the hold-up? They need to hire somebody immediately if they are going to keep the format- Buzz Casey has been gone since late July. Let Chris handle the Buzz, he's doing a great job over there and if they were to get rid of him I think things would start to fall apart.
 
I agree I think the Buzz would go back to being what it was originally supposed to be, a flanker for 99x and nothing more. I guarantee you that no one at clear channel ever thought that the Buzz would beat 99x, then again by the time they hired Williams he had already destroyed 99x, so I guess it all evens out..lol. Should he get fired with the regs? did he green light the bit? if so he's an ass, actually an even bigger one than the regs themselves because he should know better..... but do we actually have knowledge that he signed off on the bit? if so, they would have to fire him because if they dont then the Regs might have grounds for a suit. The whole point of their firing was trying to avoid Viva's guys being able to say that CC management didnt do enough and they too would be named in a suit, so if cc was trying to avoid this in the first place, Chris might have to get gone too.

We shall see.

Chris is a good guy. I wonder if RG presented the correct information on how Larry got the audio.
