I have to agree with you on this. There are plenty of secular country songs that would not make the cut but there are quite a few that I find that while the lyrics have no direct 'Christian' content, they promote the same moral values as the Biblical principals and others are testaments to strong, loving familes, etc. Perhaps the inclusion of positive lyric secular artists can expand the reach, ministering to the Christian and ministering to those who are not.
I tend to not draw too many lines in the sand but I recall a couple of instances where a song, because it was performed by a professed Christian performer but was not positive lyric it should be played. I disagreed. Likewise, I felt the question as to where the artist stood on abortion should not dictate whether a positive lyric song was added. I figured we are all not without sin and just because of sin, it does not make the positive things we might do bad. Yep, I was pretty much in left field compared to some, but right or wrong, I went with my feelings.
