Clear Channel Ups Pat McMahon To Cluster OM

McMahon retains his role as PD of Clear Channel Hot AC KDMX (Mix 102.9)/Dallas while adding the role of OM for all of the company's stations in the cluster. CC/Dallas RVP J.D. Freeman tells R&R, "Pat has demonstrated excellent leadership skills working with the PDs and other departments."

At the same time, Alternative KDGE/Dallas PD Duane Doherty adds similar duties at Classic Rock clustermate KZPS. As a result, Christie Banks exits KZPS's programming chair. Freeman said of the change, "Duane’s expertise in the rock formats will allow us to advance both stations in a strategic fashion to more creatively serve the Dallas rock listener. I’m excited that KZPS will now benefit in the same way KDGE does from his creativity."

Re: Christie Banks "exits" ... stage right or is it left ...

Why do all PR releases from broadcasting firms use the word "exits"?

Sounds strange ... weird. Other industries don't use that word.

Why not simply leaves, departs, dismissed, resigns, dumped, fired, etc.? :)

The euphemisms of public relations ...

However, everyone is subject to "downsizing".

You too may be shrunk any day now -- whether you realize ... or not.

I love the last line on the R&R report. They practically said the same thing when Christie was hired. McGoo better send the resume' out again.
