SO... I HAVE NEWS THAT CHRISTINE FOX IS LEAVING FUN SEPT. 7....ACCORDING TO AN INSIDER..SHE MIGHT DO SOME WEEKEND STUFF... OTHER THAN THAT SHE WILL STAY AT HOME MOM...SOUNDS INTERESTING? ANY THOUGHTS OR IDEAS FOR A REPLACEMENT?????? W/ HER GONE.. WHO IS THERE LEFT TO LISTEN TO AT THAT STATION LOL.

Look for Scott Reiniche to be the permanent replacement. Congrats, Scott.

No he's done that shift and weekends at B101 besides Fun107.Besides I'm betting on a female. As far as Fun,losing Christine full time is not a good thing as her shift is the only one that makes the station sound better than it even has a right to.They win in that market because they're smart enough to keep it on a rhythmic slant and they're visible and heavy on local promotions. They're small market radio and sound it.

I wonder if this is a cost cutting move by Citadel? It would not suprise me if they voice track that shift. Or split it
between Neal White & Scott Reniche.

Based on another thread on this board.... how about Heidi West?

If Citadel did indeed not renew her contract in Providence, why bring her in at Fun, even if Jaybeau is her boyfriend?

FUN may see her as a better fit than LITE did. It's possible. I also don't think radio stations give a rats ass who your significant other is. They either want YOU or they don't. Sure your boyfriend/girlfriend can put in a good word for you. But 9 out of 10 times does it really make a difference?

Wanting to stay in a particular market just because your boyfriend lives down the street is a purely personal decision. Not the best decision in the world if you want to further your career though. All you are doing is greatly limiting your choices. America is a very big place. If you choose to not leave a tiny little pin head area, than that's your problem if you can't find work.

Sky-the point being that her b/f may have helped get her the Lite gig and might also (thru coporate channels) put in a word/recommendation down to Fun seeing as all 3 are citadel properties (Jaybeau's station, Lite and Fun).

While not all the time, this might be as simple as a+b+c=d

Sources tell me it was not a comfortable setting on the trail with her there....

well.. i heard that the shift is now going to be considered Part Time.. much like the night shift is now... so.. who knows! i dont think Ms. West would take it if it wasnt full time would she?.. so who knows.. maybe it will go to Neal or Reniche. I doubt if they would move anyone else up, or switch anyone around... what about Ron moving up and someone else takin the night show?

Where is Erica when you need her? ( I know enjoying a new life in sunny Florida!)

Maybe she can VT or ISDN it?

I had to laugh at that one....people on this board are constantly griping about voice tracking and your suggestion is that?...what are you, some kind of double agent?

Probably just a joke because Erica posts here and left FHN recently. Anyway this part time 5 day a week crap has to go. Part time means weekends or swing. Not 5 days a week. That's mom and pop stuff and that should have ended years ago. This is the station that actually had a two person night show not too many years ago.

yea, ur right about the 2 person night show.. kinda funny.. usually only see that at a rock station or what not...or on a talk show..but then again.. look where their 2 person night show ended up.. now their nights are part time!..and i think when they say part time, they obviously mean no salery and no benefits... which blows because 9-2 is right in the middle of the day.. so what is tha person gunna do another job from 2 on? or just live without health insurance and what not? kinda dumb if u ask me. funny. if Rock leaves does tat mean 2-6 is part time? lol will they look for a part time MD?...just odd.

hehe..VT??? I refuse to do that for my Saturday shift here..has to be live...there's no way in the world I want listeners calling in to an endless ringing phone line. And If I can't do it live, I pay someone else to do it..just not in me to VT..even though we have a super-easy VT program

This 5-day a week part time stuff is nothing new. I've done it on a couple of occasions: once to get the particular calls on my resume & once out of necessity. This was over 15 years ago but neither was a case of a full time position suddenly becoming a part time one. It's fine when you're in your 20s or 30s, single, & can handle it...especially since health insurance is the farthest thing from your mind & the only thing you care about is making sure you're on the radio. People need to take more control over their careers, though, & even the most well-intentioned management knows when the chips are down you'll deal with it. If she's leaving on her own because the job is now part time, she's doing the right thing. She's taking control. If it happens to you & your hands are tied & can't relocate, then take control & weekend only. You may actually enjoy it more. If you're devoting 5 or 6 days a week to part time work with lower pay & no benes, you'd better be doing it temporarily only with a clear idea of why you're really doing it. Erica took control. Now look at what she's doing.

Run-as far as what I know, it is not currently a P/T position, what everyone is speculating is that it will become as p/t gig once she leaves (which, with what she did for the station, I would find hard to believe, even in a 150+ market

Unfortunatly, you just exposed why stations VT.

Radio stations don't consider one on one action with listeners important anymore. First off, most of your audience will NEVER call you. ( i think its less that 5%) So, that reason that you mentioned is out the door. Second, (if you can beleive this one) company's are slowly not allowing stations to air callers anymore. Imagine that....connect with the listener they tell you, then they tell you not interact with them or use that connection to your advantage. Who in the world is running that brainstorming meeting?

Request a song?...E-Mail

Talk to the personalties? E-Mail

Play contests?- E-mail

Want info?- Go to the website

All one on one PERSONAL live interaction with people who FILL OUT DIARIES is gone!!

Thus the land of the voice tracks

If it's rumored the shift will be PT after she leaves then chances are it was gonna be PT anyway and that's one reason she might be leaving.

I actually heard Jackie Bruno is now working at Fun 107, as like a sales agent, or something. For those of you who don't know who she is, she was Miss Teen Massachusetts in 2003. I actually met her when she hosted the Miss Natick pageant back in 2003. I can actually picture her becoming a DJ. She's very nice, and VERY talented. She's even one of my friends on Myspace. :)

Oh she's one of your myspace friends?Well that makes it right.Put her on.
Every mumble mouth "look mom I'm on the radio" micro market jock has a major market jock myspace friend and thinks because of it he has a one way express ticket to fame and fortune.
In the meantime they can get compelling messages like "hey bro booya" or "hey baby girl"
