"Christine" on 3TV

Who was this "Christine" person anchoring with Steve Ryan? They said that she had spent the last 3 years going to school here, but I wasn't terribly impressed. Who is she and why is she there?

I guess I don't have enough time to "find" these press releases. Wouldn't you think that 3TV would actually have it somewhere prominent on their website? Of course, it will probably take weeks to get Christine's bio on azfamily.com.

Well, the handwriting is on the wall for Patti Kirkpatrick. I saw an electronic billboard ad for GEAZ with a prominent picture of Fields and Yetta and a less prominent pictuare of Patti. I feel like Phoenix television doesn't respect the more senior reporters and anchors, as much as other similar-sized markets.

Looks like 3TV will be phasing Patti Kirkpatrick out the door soon as they did with Tara on GMAZ. Patti's been with 3TV since 1991 and i think she is the longest anchor/reporter left since Frank Camacho's departure a month ago. I think Patti will be on her way out by years end. Congrats to Yetta Gibson on being promoted she definitely deserves it!

One of the nice things is that 3TV is doing more than just hiring a bunch of 20-somethings to replace the 50 and 60-somethings. They carefully hired solid 30 and 40-somethings with Kaley, Yetta, and Fields. They promoted Carey and Javier from within. They hired some good younger talent as well -- Steve, Marie, Stella, and now Christine. At first, I wasn't really impressed with the weather hires, April and Brittany, but have grown to really like them. And they have both earned their weather credentials.

One went through an accredited university (ASU) and the other took a 17 course distance learning program (Mississippi State).

One is a meteorologist and the other is a pleasant temp-chart reader reporting from Valley farm locations.

Both work in a market in which weather is mostly doldrums.

Yes, I know that. Do we have to go into detail every time we mention it? Quite frankly, April's weather presentation still doesn't exactly glow with "major university" written all over it. Glad to know she's smart enough to graduate from ASU, along with tens of thousands of others each year. ::) That said, April is fine for Phoenix weather because we generally don't have any. When we do, they didn't forecast it anyway. Some of the most ferocious monsoon seem to happen when there is "no" chance of rain anywhere in Arizona or the infamous "we can't have monsoons two days in a row" forecast.

Honestly, if you want to see a gorgeous, blonde met, see Rebecca Stevenson in Seattle. She's blonde and she's a great met.

Seattle weather must be even more boring than that in Phoenix. Instead of "hot, sunny and the same the remainder of the week" Seattle has "cool with occasional rain continuing through the week".

Gorgeous? She's not bad-looking, but I understand that everyone is entitled to his/her opinion(s).

So what does this mean for Scott Pasmore, who, if Kirkpatrick leaves, will have the most seniority? Will they be looking to ease him out as well?

We'll see! Scott seems to be more of a team player than the others. He's also probably not making anywhere near the money that Tara did and Patti does.
