Christmas 106.5???

Not really local to Alabama but since Sirius XM is giving out a free two week preview for all old radios right now, I'd dig up my old Roady and see if they still suck as bad as they did when I cancelled it years ago. (Worse now.)

The first channel I hit after it came off the preview channel? Christmas music. I can't escape it! ;D

(Also, the free preview only includes 60 channels, no Stern or O&A.) Damn. Just, damn.

This leads me to believe that Journey will be changing format after Christmas as well. Should make for some interesting changes in the Huntsville radio landscape!

I agree. I would think that journey may be changing after Christmas too. I don't think any of the journey stations have lasted. We can be sure that it won't be CHR if it does flip though.

Then again, at least 93.3 is still calling themselves "Journey". They sound like they are trying to compete with Lite 96.9 as Huntsville's go-to Christmas station as opposed to just doing a simple Christmas format in preparation to change formats. I'd bet the 80's and 90's will return as usual after Christmas. 106.5 on the other hand is a different story. I'd be surprised is the WBHP simulcast returns there.

Mix 103 Montgomery joined the fray on Monday, four days earlier than in past years.

They could be the only option (besides AM 950) in the River Region. O-tay by me.

Just heard a promo on Journey 93-3....they will be returning to the 80s and 90s after the holidays. Looks like Huntsville radio will continue to be boring and stale....

Hmmm. Just as I suspected. You can't count on Cumulus to do anything exciting. I'm not surprised Huntsville is the only market the Journey format still exists in ::) We can still hold our breath that our suspisions about 106.5 will be true and they'll shake things up a bit!

Well our suspicions about 106.5 are correct. I just heard an announcement that said "tune in to106.5 on Wednesday December 26th for Huntsville's brand new radio station on 106.5. You're gonna love it." The jock didnt say a specific time but if its launching on the 26th, I guess there will be no further stunting. Come on real CHR! I'd love that so we wouldn't be stuck with zyp's garbage anymore!

They even have a website; christmas1065.com.

Maybe they'll flip to Top-40 after the holidays, and give ZYP a run for their money....... :)

SOOTHSAYER!!!! ;D
