Christmas 1340 AM

This station is reaching way back and playing some wonderful Christmas music. I enjoy it much more than the cookie cutter 97.5 and B101 have been throwing out there, replete with their gosh darn jukebox announcer voiceovers telling us the name and artist of every song 24/7!

I think Alice and Sunny had the format done right and B101 and 97.5 don't impress me by dragging it out an extra month for ratings sake.

I'll tune to 1340 on Christmas this year!

Wow, with three stations and a fourth (WOGL) on its way, that "KYW SantaTrax" channel might as well be all but discontinued!

I've tuned in to WOGL a bunch of times and have heard nothing about it. Is there a certain time during the hour when they are mentioning an impending flip? Perhaps we're reading too much into it anyway. Maybe they're just gonna do a few all-Christmas weekends or something.

I would love to hear them do the format but I'm not totally sure I think it's the best idea. Won't a lot of their listeners take the opportunity to test the waters at BEN-FM and and WMGK?

I put on WHAT yesterday and Bob Craig was on playing standards - if they are playing Christmas songs, they are scattered between the regular format songs.

Hi John,

When did you listen to Bob? He still plays an hour of Sinatra during lunch, noon until 1:00PM. Rest of the time is all Christmas music.

Best.......

OK, it was lunchtime - I can't get WHAT before or after work. Why don't they play Sinatra Christmas tunes?

Why don't they play Sinatra Christmas tunes?

Well, how many Sinatra Christmas tunes are there? To rotate them for an hour every day would burn them to a crisp in no time.

I can name two Sinatra Christmas songs currently in rotation all day today on The Cockroach (shameless plug)...
