Noticed KVIL hasn't gone all Christmas yet. It must be just a matter of time.

...and it also starts my thoughts on why we dont hear the fun xmas songs anymore (Wierd Al - christmas at ground zero, Cheech & Chong - Santa and his old lady)

One of the reasons i got XM Radio...........

XM and Sirus does have XM, however, KVIL and XM/Sirus will not be doing Christmas music this year because Christmas has been canceled due to the poor economy. It has been reported that Santa had to downsize on elves this year as part of trying to save money. He has automated machines that make the toys now, but non the less Christmas has been canceled.
We are waiting word from President Bush. So... No Christmas music this year!

The Federal reserve may have a bailout for Christmas ,however Santa according to the news tonight is one of the AIG execs who hardly spent time in the office and received a golden parachute. The Parachute was made by hasbro. KVIL will extend Halloween by playing a scarefest of Christmas Music starting on Veterans day. KLTY will start on November 1st with your favorite Amy Grant christmas marathon.
Black friday will be different this year for all sales 50% off can not be redeemed unless you show your unemployment check stub. If you do not have one you will be asked to sign a guaranteed mortgage reate at 45% for ten years in order to buy a gift. "I am dreaming of a blight Christmas just like the one my grandparents had 79 years ago. "

S-a-n-t-a Cl-a-us, hooray for Santa Claus.....

Sorry, was just watcing santa claus conquers the martians, one of the oddest xmas movies ever, along with that mexican santa claus movie...

True. It would have to be bleeped out or totally removed by the 7 second delay.

Otherwise Santa would get a NAL every time he laughs.

Poor santa, just another brother being held down by the man...

I guess I'm one of the few that HATES it when KVIL (aka "Lite FM") goes to all Christmas music programming.

So, with that being said, and if I was to go make a purchase, would you recommend an HD radio for the car or go for an XM/Sirrius rig?

I am not "anti-Christmas", not at all, just HATE the music, especially when they start playing it BEFORE Thanksgiving !!

go with the xm/sirius. The programming on hD is a deer in the headlights occupation, they have no idea what to do with it.

If I ruled the world....

1. No Halloween decorations in the stores until October 1st.
2. No Thanksgiving decorations in the stores until November 1st.
3. No Christmas decorations in the stores until the Monday before Thanksgiving.
4. No all-Christmas music on the radio until the day after Thanksgiving.

The over-commercialization of the holidays has cheapened their meaning. Let's at least let our industry start to back off on this trend.

Walmart sure could use you as a consultant....I was in there buying my bike last evening and they already had the thanksgiving junk out...I also saw an aisle closed off so they could start stocking xmas stuff

Well, that's one of the greatest things about where we live... You're free to choose which station you listen to, which retail establishments to purchase from, and you can even go to some radio forums and moan about it, even though it does no good. ;)

Costco starts stocking its Christmas inventory in August. It's tough buying ornaments when it's 105 degrees outside.

The Walgreens down the street has an isle of chocolate Easter bunnies out. Is that too early?

Amendment to rule #3... No Christmas decorations in the stores until the Friday after Thanksgiving. No stores open on Thanksgiving (Are you listening Garbage Ridge?)

Add rule #5... All Christmas decorations must be removed from houses, yards, windows etc on New Years Day. Christmas decorations in public view after January 1 will be subjuect to a fine of $500 per day. Can yu tell I belong to an HOA? ;D
