Christmas countdown

Amendment to rule #3... No Christmas decorations in the stores until the Friday after Thanksgiving. No stores open on Thanksgiving (Are you listening Garbage Ridge?)

Add rule #5... All Christmas decorations must be removed from houses, yards, windows etc on New Years Day. Christmas decorations in public view after January 1 will be subjuect to a fine of $500 per day. Can yu tell I belong to an HOA? ;D

Shouldn't Catholics get a 6 day extension? Epiphany (Three Wise Men Feast) is on january 6 you know. ;) ;D

Wow, is it time already to continue the (now) 8-year old tradition of saying...

"I predict that KVIL will flip to Christmas music on Thursday, October 30 at 11:17AM."

(If I have to explain this, it won't be funny anymore by the time I'm done.)

Excuse me... but I have never been accused of such a heinous act... AND I would never kick a puppy either. ;D ;D

Hence the wink jeff. I agree with ya, Im 32 and remember when xmas stuff didnt appear in the store until the week of thanksgiving, the good news is that the big box stores have gotten the message (esp. target) and have held back on the pushing product.

Target, Sears, Dillards, have all made press saying they expect this season to be worst than lousy. Some will NOT push "hot" items this year at all. New toys are being held back. BLACK FRIDAY coupons on the internet are starting to leak out however.

On the KVIL christmas dribble with well known songs by lesser known artists ,a few hits ,and majority of misses, with weekend passes to the terrell state hospital for those driven nuts by it ,the magic day will be ..<hark the herald angels sing) 6am on November 10th ,veterans day. So put on your old military uniforms ,wave the f;lag and sing Old tannebaum" and dance to Vince Guariladi's"Linus and Lucy" on "Blite 103.7"

this is one of those things I get hung up about, I like xmas music, but not the crap they roll out on KVIL

Chapman will flip day before thanksgiving..KVIL already pulled xmas in july, so they may wait until the day after to flip...

Hopefully chapman will play "Santa Claus and his old lady" by Cheech and Chong...

Bob and Doug Mckenzie (Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis-SCTV) is who you are thinking of. Perhaps Chapman will also play some Bob Rivers as well. then the Christmas Marathon would be slightly tolerable.

I prefer Wierd Al's "Christmas At Ground Zero" ;)

Sorry, folks, but KMNY-1360 gets the award for 2008's Earliest Christmas Song. We had some technical issues with going back to satellite after doing a live, April 2008 "Hi-Fi Club," so we had to fill about 30 mins with SOMETHING...and I didn't bring enough extra music to cover that...so we raided the station's "library," which was very heavy on the yuletide stuff, and voila! Bing Crosby is heard in 95-degree weather across DFW.

Yes I remember listening and after five minutes it was 105 outside but I had to turn my thermostat up due to frost appearing on the windows when that song came on.
