Christmas Dance Music Songlist

Hey, just wondering if anyone can post a playlist/songlist of dance friendly christmas music? I remember Energy98 posted a list of the holiday music they played a few years ago, but I havent been able to find it since. Looking to add music to my Iphone to listen to in the car for the holidays.

if you get nothing else in terms of "dance-friendly" Christmas music, you just GOT-TA go with "Christmas Jollies" from the Salsoul Orchestra..probably like the BEST Christmas contemporary dance-friendly CD EVER!! (and a close second, if you're into "oldies"/"classic hits" AT ALL, is "A Christmas Gift for You" from Phil Spector, followed by ANY of the "A Very Special Christmas" CDs...)

Hope this helps!
Andrea

I know there were some dance artists that released Christmas tracks the past few years. I know I've heard them on BPM on XM, and various dance stations online. I just can't remember titles/artists

Christmas Songs with Dance usually change each year with only a select few released each year. I know one of my alltime favorites is called Carol of the Bells, and I think its by DJ-X,, please correct me if im wrong so we can help this guy out.... I still loved this song even though its a good 5 years old now,,,, Im not much into any kind of christmas music these days, ever since I became single right before Christmas last year, and me and the family cant afford gifts and stuff, ive just had a Scrooge Humbug attitude... But dont let my attitude affect yours.. I remember last year on XMs BPM they had a song,, dont know the artist but it was called its my first christmas with you,, and I always changed the words to its my first christmas WITH (OUT) you considering I lost my wife of 7 years one week before christmas. But anyway,, help this guy out if you can, and dont dwell on my little mishaps,,, considering I could be in jail this christmas for something I didnt even do. And my license are suspended for one year.....But anyway,,,Back on Subject.

I was driving today and heard xmas music on the radio. Is it that time already? Seems like I just finished off that pumkin pie.

At Energy 98 we've stuck with more of a dance xmas list and skip the non-dance xmas songs. I'm not sure when to start the xmas tunes. I guess I just don't have that holiday passion like others.

Any thoughts on when to roll out santa?

Personally I wouldnt add any holiday music until one week before christmas...

Like it used to be after Thanksgiving. Santa arrives on the float of the Macy's thanksgiving parade

Thanks for your replies, but I wasn't asking when to start playing or adding xmas music. :p

I was asking if anyone had a list of Christmas Dance music (ie. Xmas tracks done by dance artists or remixes of xmas tracks) I know I've heard it on E98, and XM's BPM in the past. I even emailed Mike at E98 and asked if he still had his list, b/c I know I saw the list on E98 or the E98 message boards in the past.

This is for personal use. Thanks in advance

(Willy Wonka Theme but BPM plays it during the holidays) Ford feat. Jori - Pure Imagination
(Got it from BPM) Minimalistix - Winter Wonderland
(My favorite of all time. Best Christmas Song EVER) DJ Demonixx - Carol of The Bells.

I am actually surprised that more dance artists HAVEN'T gone the holiday route!

Andrea mentioned "Salsoul Orchestra" and that record goes back to 1976! If I am not mistaken, I thought Cascada did a remake of Wham's "Last Christmas". I think there was a freestyle Christmas album as well.

Thinking business here, having a Christmas track for the most part is "money in the pocket". Think of it like a tax return that one can expect every year at this time. Even if an artist doesn't make it with his/her career, a holiday track is for the most part "guaranteed".

Granted, this group was New Wave but "The Waitresses" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Waitresses had their moment in the early 80's. Their main song was "I Know What Boys Like". But their BIGGEST song of all is ALWAYS played this time of year on EVERY radio station that does Christmas, and is a standard to this day...."Christmas Wrapping".

Even though the lead vocalist - Patty Donahue - passed away, the remaining members of the group as well as Patty's estate STILL makes money from that track, based on royalties.

So...if all else fails, sing a holiday track! A CHR station that usually isn't receptive to dance music may just open up the door in this instance! :)

Edger,

We haven't hit Thanksgiving yet and ALREADY there is a Santa at my local mall! The holiday shopping season had kinda started now, more based on bad holiday shopping projections. While there haven't been holiday formats rolling out yet, some stations are playing one or two holiday songs.

I suppose it may be safe to "spoonfeed" a little bit until past Thanksgiving when you can REALLY roll them out!
