Christmas Flip In Worcester

The all-Christmas format has begun at WORC-FM. Driving
through Worcester this afternoon and turned on 98.9 at
about 3:20pm and discovered the change. I had listened
to them earlier in the day and it was still 60's and 70's, so
I'm guessing the flip happened around 3pm.

Heard it tonight when I got home and had to change the station. I've got The Pike on now. 98-9 was still regular programming with Adam Webster this morning and into Dave O' Gara's shift when I last heard the station about 930am this morning. Adam Webster said he'd be off until Monday but he'd still be there Thurs and Fri mornings "through the miracle of modern technology". Don't know if Dave O or Mark Veau will be live or not through the holiday weekend so they could very well be all Christmas until Monday.

Regardless of whether it's just tonight or the entire 4 1/2 day weekend, they beat WSRS which will probably flip Friday.

After reading WMC's post, I went to 989's website to see if perhaps they were streaming oldies instead
of Christmas music. Not only are they playing the Christmas music on line, but their hour-by-hour list
of music doesn't have the holiday songs. In fact, when I looked, they still had the last oldies songs they
had played just prior to the flip Wednesday afternoon. Based on what the DJ's are saying about a classic
Christmas, it would seem that the holiday music is going to be on beyond the weekend.

How sure are you that they're live at all normally?
