Christmas flips

Looks like KEZK/St. Louis has gone all-Christmas

WKQC/Charlotte is all-Christmas, not sure if it's for the weekend or full time.
Same for WRCM. Interestingly, while they're Christian the rest of the year, they'll play any style of Christmas music, even the "Peanuts" music.

According to Radio-Info.com news yesterday, or maybe Sunday, the reason might be that they would like to boost ratings in two books. Also, they might keep some new listeners they pick up as a result of going all Christmas sooner.

For my part, I'll stick to the Christmas special that comes up.

CC's WHOF/101.7 "My 101.7" in the Canton OH market has just flipped. A reader thinks they're using the same music feed as sister CC WMVX/106.5 in Cleveland. I haven't done an A/B comparison yet.

Looks like WHOF is using the national feed I've been seeing, which is also being heard on WLZT in Columbus.

WMVX's music looks much better, a shame all of the CC Christmas stations won't use something more like that with more variety. Could it be they are programming it locally?

I heard that 92.9 in Lansing, Michigan switched to all-Christmas sometime in the past week or so. 92.9 used to be a smooth jazz station as WJZL. Now it's WLMI, and its new format is yet to be determined. Perhaps mainstream AC after the holidays?

93.1 in miami
and 93.9 in miami within hours of each other

93.1 is changing formats in the new year possibly back to dance as party 93.1

93.9 on the other hand i dont know

Mix 92.9 here in Nashville is already promoting their changeover coming on Thursday. They are also already interspersing some Christmas tunes with their regular rotation. They changed over on or about November 21st last year. Maybe the backlash from last year's early switchover is why they are not doing it quite so early this year.

Meanwhile, the FISH (Christian) changed over around November 19th, and like others here have previously said, they don't limit their Christmas music to Christian songs. I've already heard the Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick" this year.

And even though it has been in the 70s lately, I'm already hearing Christmas music piped into the stores! ::)

I don't know when they flipped, but I heard Clear Channel classic hits WBBG/106.1 Niles "Big 106" in the Youngstown OH market doing Christmas music on Wednesday.

Again, not an AC station, and as far as I know, hot AC sister WMXY/98.9 "Mix 98.9" hasn't flipped.

Here are two more from Portland: KFIS, The Fish and KBPS, owned and operated by the Portland Public Schools at Benson High since 1923.

95.7 WZID in NH went as of 12:00am today. I know in previous years they'd do Christmas music on weekends only, but the website looks like it's full-time.

And there's another thing we can have 1,000 Christmas stations in this nation, which would be a new all time record by that day. So keep watching out for a thousand!

Looking to get into two books does not necessarily mean income or ratings, given the number of people who are not terribly impressed with the commercial mindset of the stations. They might get some new listeners, but they might also lose so many that they have to stations that stick to their format, peppering here and there with a Christmas tune.

As mentioned in the Northeast PA forum, 92.9 WMGS/Wilkes-Barre-Scranton flipped this past Wednesday at 9am.
