Christmas in Cincy/Dayton market this year

who went all christmas last year??

i know Mix 94.1 and Lite 99.9 did and Warm also WROU went all christmas on weekends... who else?
 
Clear channel has been flipping some of it's Stations in other markets like 106.1 in Philly to rythmic AC with Whoopi in the Morning. yes i know philly's isnt called the party. they just flipped mega 95.7 in denver from Hurban to Rythmic AC as the Party. I belive Mix already has Whoopi so it wouldnt shock me if Mix has another bad book if they dont go Christmas before Warm they will end up being another The Party before 2007 comes around. Mix has been underperforming for years against Q and Warm. Mix in Dayton has done better than Mix Cincinnati. You would think they give more attention to Cincy's Mix over Dayton's.
 
It would not suprise me if CC flips mix to the part from what i see from the last 10 songs played on denvers 95.7 The Party it some of the same stuff mix plays.
 
Plus it shocks me with How close Dayton and Cincy are in terms with sharing some of its stations between both Markets that CC actually still has 2 Mix's. About a Year or so back CC Dayton Rebranded 94.5 Kiss to Channel 945 to differntiaite if from 1071 Kiss FM

I don't know for sure, but I would have to think that the presence of Kiss Country, which was using "Kiss" at least five or ten years before 94.5, might have had something to do with it. If a diarykeeper wrote down just "Kiss," wouldn't Kiss Country get half the credit?
 
If CC really Cared about Kiss Country using Kiss they would have had a Cease and Desist in using the Kiss Name to kiss Country when The Beat 94.5 became 94.5 Kiss FM. But since they didnt seem to care about Little ol Kiss Country back then i think the change to Channel 94.5 was more of the closeness of 2 kiss's with in the southeast Ohio corner.
 
anyway... back on the subject of christmas, i can't wait for Lite 99.9 to start playing christmas music. they usally start that friday before thanksgiving
 
No, you've missed the point. Kiss Country had it first by five or ten years and probably long before Clear Channel ever owned a "Kiss."

And southeastern Ohio doesn't have two Clear Channel Kisses. There's only the one in Ironton.

Lite 99.9 in the past has always had a great mix of all Christmas music during the season....before that the old WCTM and Stanley Coning(God love the 'ol dude) played wall to wall Christmas music from Thanksgiving up until Christmas Day.

Can't forget "trusty Dusty on duty" with his Christmas countdown aired on WDJO and WULM.

How about an all Christmas station? The decorations are already out in the stores, and it's not even Halloween.

Can one really consider WKSW (Kiss Country) a Dayton station? I can barely get them in my car, let alone inside a building in Dayton.
 
Lite 99.9 has made it a tradition in recent years to go all-Christmas from roughly the weekend before Thanksgiving to Christmas. I'd count on Lite to continue with the tradition this year.

In Cincinnati, Mix 94.1 has been the station to go all-Christmas, but who knows this year. Does Whoopi play music during her show? That could be the deciding factor whether the station does the Christmas thing this year. Personally, I think 96.5 will be the station to go with an all-Christmas format, especially if it's in their plans to make the perminant flip to a format that very much compliments Warm 98. We shall see. :)
