Will Happy Halloween guys. Its that time of the year when we will be hearing Jingle bells over the airwaves here in Connecticut in the next couple of weeks.

Will the sun rise in the east? There's no other station in the market that would even think about it at this point. What was the last Hartford station to try to challenge 'RCH at ho-ho-ho time? WDRC-FM with Christmas pop and soul oldies a few years before the sale to Connoisseur? How did that work out, ratings- and sales-wise? iHeart's not going to flip WHCN or WWYZ (although I'm sure there'll be holiday country tunes sprinkled into its daily rotation in December). CBS for sure won't cannibalize 'RCH by flipping WTIC-FM. Every other FM in the market would be completely blowing off its regular audience by going 24/7 Christmas.

Full-Power Radio's WBMW in the New London market will be the first to flip. It always is. WRCH always flips on Thanksgiving Day. (Except for one year they flipped a few days before). Cumulus's WEBE usually does Christmas Music on the weekends. For a couple weeks I-Heart's WWYZ usually does Christmas Music 7PM-Midnite. I wonder if WNTY will mix in Christmas Music like they did last year. Last year WNTY was just LMA'd to Full-Power Radio. Now they own it outright.

Doesn't Star 99.9 (WEZN) usually go Christmas, too? Do they flip before or after WRCH? And which one of the Springfield ACs, WHYN-FM or WMAS, goes Christmas every year? I can never remember which one.

Thanks for the info guys.I thought that Star99.9 stop doing the Christmas format awhile back.I dont remember if they were playing 24/7 Christmas last season. Also I know WRCH did run their 36hours of Christmas special and I taped it.WWYZ or WCTY probably run Bob Kingsley's or Lon Helton's holiday shows .I cant remember who has the rights for these shows.

Yes .I had WBMW on as I was traveling home after seeing Stevie Nicks and the Pretenders at Mohegan Sun Arena Friday Night.Great show . On the AM side I have 1220 WQUN tuned in and they mixed some Christmas in with their regular tunes.I heard Mannheim Steamroller's Deck The Halls yesterday afternoon on there.

According to their website VGR Radio AM 1400 in Stamford is playing Christmas Music as of Thanksgiving.

I also think WRCH's Christmas Music mix this year is awful. They're playing some of the same Christmas Music they always play, but by different artists. I've been listening to WBMW online. Much better. And The same for WSPA out of Spartanberg, South Carolina.

WEBE 108 also has Christmas Music this weekend too.

Yes .I noticed WRCH last year was more likely re looping the same tunes over and over again like an Ipod with a short playlist .I give WBMW a try this time.I'll check out AM 1400 later too.
