Christmas In Connecticut

New London's WKNL/Kool 101 could very well be the very first radio station in the state to play a Christmas or holiday song. This morning, Jim Reed gave a prize away to the first caller after playing the Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick."

Sad.

Anyway WRCH 100.5 will flip to 24/7 XMAS Music either the week of Thanksgiving or Thanksigving Day. 102.9 The Big D will begin mixing in XMAS Music on Black Friday like they did last year. The Big D's First XMAS Song last year was at 4AM Black Friday morning as I was driving to "The Big W" for my 4:30AM shift. And SOFT ROCK 106.5 will flip to all XMAS about 3 weeks before WRCH does. That's the norm. STAR 99.9 will flip around Thanksgiving Week too. (Or maybe the week before.

Have you guys considered that this may be part of THEIR Fall Book Promotion? After all, we are in a book period. Just a thought.

That's better that outlets in other cities (Waiting until Black Fri)--NYC and PHilly often have an x-mas station by 1st or 2nd week of Nov.

As far as I'm concerned they can all wait till the 12th of Never. I've got a TON of XMAS CD's. I don't need wall to wall christmas on any radio station. Especially as early as Thanksgiving for crying out loud.

Moments ago, Ray Dunaway did a weather forecast over "Sleigh Ride" - if only to illustrate how cold it will be over the next few days...

Bah! I've got them all beat, back when I was on WESU, I always made sure to play Kurtis Blow - Christmas Rap (aka Rappin' Blow) on April 1st and July 4th.

So, basically what you're saying is...it's a non-issue. Onward, gang!

Snow in the middle of October!!! Yay tree huggers! Global Warming!!!! Save the planet!!! Kill the older cars that are still perfectly serviceable by draining the oil and then filling the crankcase with a mixture of sodium silicate and water (sand/glass) and then running them full throttle until they die an excruciating death! Make YouTube videos of it and then laugh about it... he he he he he.... Very funny unless it was your nice car dying for the socialists.... Hee hee hee... I'm getting PAID to destroy this car! Yeeeeee Haw!

Watch with caution and be prepared to be sickened; this is only one of many thousands:

A non-issue, exactly!

By the way is there a Weird Al version of White Christmas that is White Halloween instead? I think there needs to be this year.

This thread is a genuine slice of Americana.

Not to mention a waste of bandwidth.

BTW: This just in...Christmas is on December 25th this year. FYI.

It all depends on who you talk to, there are religious scholars out there that will tell you the DEC 25th date is wrong and based on pagan rituals or astrological references and that the true date is some time around late September to early December.
