Christmas in Knoxville

Knoxville will apparently have 2 Christmas stations this year. Compared to other markets, Knoxville has seemed to be "under-Christmased" compared to other markets. As I recall last year, even well into December. My wife and I went looking for Christmas lights last year and B97.5 was still running Tom Kent on a Saturday night.

Ron Meredith took Praise 96.3 all-Christmas today, and in anticipation B97.5 was playing Christmas music last night (I don't know if this will last continuously through Christmas).

Interesting, since B97.5 is a sister station to Mix 92.9 here in Nashville, and Mix almost always goes full-time yuletide on Thanksgiving day, ditto the Fish. Fish usually has a preview day the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Wife tells me that Mix has already mixed in yuletide tuneage prior to Thanksgiving. We were in Mobile, AL, last weekend, so I don't know if the Fish previewed Christmas again this year like they have in the past. But while channel-surfing the car radio there in Mobile, quite a bit of Christmas tuneage going on there last weekend.

My fuzzy brain seems to remember B97.5 doing the same thing, going all Christmas a couple of weeks before (I think they carried Delilah's Christmas version). Last year it wasn't the case, and they may have only been all Christmas for a week or so
