Christmas is Here Again! (Tuesday, October 26, 2010)

Mark this day/week on your calendars. Christmas music is currently being playing on 97.5FM/WPEN-HD2. They're using the Now imaging. I guess it seems that even waiting until Halloween is about a week too late in this market. :p

Edit: I guess with yesterday actually being October 25th and more or less two months before the day of Christmas, my assumption is that the folks at Greater Media flipped the format from classical to Christmas yesterday. That's only a guess, though, since I didn't actually hear it until this morning.

Yeah! Me, too. I don't get this annual obsession with who's playing Christmas music and when they start playing it. Maybe somebody could explain it.

I am glad that GASB (Great American Song Book) singers are heard on the radio once a year. However, it does seem that some people think that Bing Crosby (arguably, the greatest performer of the 20th Century) and Perry Como only recorded Christmas songs. A few months ago, I set up a "Bing Crosby" station on last.FM and all it played was Christmas music.

relaunch now on 95.7

go with christmas music until december 26th then kick right in with the ac format

1housand songs in a row just to get people tuned in

Too bad I can't even get its HD to even show up at my location, even though I can hear the analog pretty well. I'm glad they're not abandoning the Now 97.5 Christmas library. I wish Clear Channel would bring back its Sunny 104.5 library on an HD station.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
