Christmas Is Here (Non-HD)

I heard Paul McCartney and Kenny G. Christmas tunes on the way home. I would have bet the switch would have been next Monday or on Thanksgiving Day. Do you think out of market (but still heard in the Philly area) JBR flipping had anything to do with B going today?

So I guess the question is... did WJBR flip early because they read in the Inquirer that B101 was flipping at 3pm?

Anyone else going to flip? WOGL? WISX? WBEN? WHAT?

I think they did B101 tells you all morning long that Christmas music starts today at 3pm then WJBR does it at 1pm. B101 had everything to do with WJBR going all Christmas music today..

now would be a really good time to flip 94WYSP
to fresh 94.1 and get those b101.1 listeners who dont want x-mas music

CBS tried to launch a new Fresh station in Chicago a couple of years ago when WLIT went Christmas. Did not work. Why?

Because the audience was ready for Christmas music.

B 101 has never been impacted in a negative way any time they have flipped to Christmas.

It is foolish for any station to make a major format flip now because it's only going to get lost in the holiday shuffle.

And besides------WYSP will be WIP-Fm eventually.

I agree with Seltzer. Disgruntled people who hate holiday music will wind up with BEN-FM, since most of their playlist sounds like a slightly more gold B-101 anyway. WYSP flipping would do nothing.

The the flip to Christmas music, I say "oy vey."

It would be silly for Clear Channel to flip WISX to Christmas. They're going to get some of the spillovers from people who think WBEN plays too much rock.

It would be silly to flip WYSP to Christmas if they're going to flip to sports. You don't flush out the audience between a rock format and a sports format. Too much overlap. If they're going to flip to AC, now is the time, but they should flip to year-round AC music, not to Christmas music.

WYSP is NOT going to sports.IF any CBS station is going all Christmas music it will be Oldies 98.But I think they will keep it on HD-2 and just mix in some Christmas music on HD-1(Non-HD)Till December 24.

So, they'd leave the dead-in-the-water WSYP alone and flip consistent top performer WOGL? On what planet does that even make a modicum of sense?

Can you read ? no one said WOGL was flipping to anything.....(WYSP is NOT going to sports.IF any CBS station is going all Christmas music it will be Oldies 98.But I think they will keep it on HD-2 and just mix in some Christmas music on HD-1(Non-HD)Till December 24.)WOGL did go all Christmas music last year
