CHRISTMAS IS NOT CHRISTMAS WITHOUT OUR SUNNY

OK, I gave JBR a chance, I thought they were going to be like Sunny, that was a joke, B-101 cannot stand up to Sunny, XM Holly, so-so, Music Choice, no way and all the internet stations do not come close. The only half decent source is AOL-Radio's Christmas pop and Christmas oldies channels which you get free with AOL subscription, including over 100 music channels. I don't intend to beat a dead horse but is it only me that misses Sunny's Christmas approach and music. There was nothing like Sunny, their music mix and presentation were like no other, and I don't think any CC station copied their unique Christmas format. They made the holidays better and more enjoyable, I remember hearing them in most stores in the malls and on the streets. Why CC would destroy this station for what is on now is insane. Its not about ratings and money but the politically correct gene in all of radio today.

Try The Rose 101.3 from Lancaster, PA, they are playing all XMAS music!!! Go to www.roseradio.com and click on the listen live button on the right!!!

They are great when it comes to the regular music, I think the XMAS wouldn't be any different!!!

Just a suggestion!!!

XM Holly, so-so

I believe XM's 4 other Christmas channels will start this weekend, bringing the total to 5.

XM 103 / Holly - Contemporary holiday hits (replaces UPop)
XM 104 / Holiday Traditions - 40s, 50s, 60s
XM 105 / Music City Holiday - Country (replaces US Country)
XM 106 / Classical Christmas (replaces XM Pops)
XM 107 / Special XMas ("the soundtrack to your dysfunctional family holiday")

Beats anything on the air in Philly!

Sunny's demise has nothing to do with politics. Pure and simple, it was a business decision. Low ratings plus low revenue equals time for a change. It never proved to be the flanker against B 101 so DAS would always be #1 in Philly for CC. It never really put a dent into OGL. It tried refining its music mix a number of times but nothing worked. And you can't build a radio station aroun5 to 8 weeks in the fall. Time to move on. It's not coming back.

Amen yocco. Sunny's gone, lamenting here isn't going to bring it back. Personally, I can't stand listening to xmas music 24/7 until a day or two before xmas. This past weekend NJ101.5 and XTU were already integrating xmas music... I changed the station w/in 3 chords

From what I heard, it billed better than JJZ did. And you're right... it had nothing to do with politics. CC across the country is putting the Spanish format on under performing frequencies. And the majority of those Spanish stations are doing well. I think Rumba is going to do very well here in Philly. Write it on your calendars right now... "Munch said Rumba will be a top 5 station by this time next year." (11/23/06)

If I'm wrong, so be it.

I definately miss Sunny's Christmas music, but I've since moved on. I've been tuned into Sirius (which has 4 channels of Christmas) and I'm loving it this season.

Their Classical Pops station plays a lot of really old carols from the Renaissance, etc..., as well as full choir and orchestra pieces.

In addition, two of their lighter stations are playing the traditional songs that Sunny used to play.

Overall I'm very satisfied with Sirius, in Sunny's absence.

I have XM and AOL Radio/Music, I am enjoying the same sounds, XM has a channel that plays Country Classic Christmas songs, which are so refreshing, plus traditional pop, classical, odd tunes, and a few others. Many channels just like the old Sunny, but like I said before, why do "WE" have to pay for the music we embrace, when "OTHERS" can have it free on T radio. On another note, I think the 104.5 frequency and format will FAIL... next year this time, they will be way below a 2.0 and 106.1 will be likewise. BAD MOVE CC.....stay away from Rock and you will FAIL!! FAIL!! FAIL!!.

Yes.. because Power 99 and 105.3 WDAS are complete and utter failures. ::)
