Christmas Music has started in Nashville

So flipping through the channels I noticed where Christmas Music is going continuous on Mix 929 and the Fish 94.1 already. Wow this is different for Mix 929 they usually start there's after Thanksgiving.

Remind me to delete Mix on the presets! I love Christmas and all but only around Dec 15th and
after. It's too soon! Don't wanna hear it yet.

Mix and Fish usually start ON Thanksgiving, not the day after. And yes, they are out of my presets, too!

I believe that this has to be the earliest that they have ever started Christmas music. November 21st! And wall-to-wall Christmas music at that!

I say let them start as early as possible. Then the inevitable backlash will finally kick in, and maybe some semblance of common sense will return.

Oh, wait, never mind, this is radio. No common sense in radio! ::)

I was out of town this weekend and noticed that Mix 92.9 had gone all Christmas music sometime over the weekend. I don't normally listen to Mix 92.9 but just happened to come across it as I scanning the radio dial as I neared Cookeville. As far as 94.1 the Fish, I wasn't aware they had switched to All Christmas Music yet. I know that Doug and Kim was having a contest to see which family would help them switch to All Christmas music on Tuesday afternoon. If they went All Christmas this weekend, doesn't that make the contest for the family a moot point?

Let's look on the bright side, this only means we are only closer to the post Christmas "Escape" by Rupert. Oh yeah I guess they could play that at any time. Never Mind.

Mix 92.9 has already gone to Christmas music so Early? Let us take this time to pray for the jocks at 92.9 that must listen to Burl Ives "Holly Jolly Christmas", Any Grant's "Tender Tennessee Christmas" and "Grandma was run over by a reindeer" for the next six weeks. Plus they probably have to answer the phones from people requesting this music. Tough pay. Tough Pay! ;D

Maybe Mix is playing "Escape" on a continuous loop on their HD-2 channel...

Back in the 70s, John Denver did "Oh Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas" Is there a song any worse?

I saw Alan Jackson recorded a song with that title... You mean to tell me it was a cover?!

I tried listening to 94.1 The Fish yesterday as my wife and I did some Christmas shopping around town. I swear, they must have played "Sleigh Ride" by the Boston Pops every hour or it seems like every hour. There were several others songs that seem like it was played quite often, but not as much as "Sleigh Ride". I'm already sick of Christmas music and the Fish and Mix 92.9 have only been playing it for a week.

If I want to hear Christmas Music, I want to hear Elvis. There is a reason. It reminds me of my late Dad and the many years of Christmas he brought me, my sister, and my older half-sister.

Back about 2005, my Dad was listening to Elvis Christmas Music when I was over at my parent’s house one afternoon and he mention, why can't Christmas be like it once was. I told my sister and half-sister that we need to make Christmas Eve the best they can be. We did that in 2005, before my dad's stroke in 2005. His last Christmas was in 2006, after his stroke. Bless his heart, he barely knew half of what was going on, but the memories of 2005 and all Elvis on made him happy. Sorry for bring my personal memories on this board.

**Why can't every day be like Christmas.....written by Red West, cousin of Sonny West here in Gallatin, both of course were the bodyguards for Elvis.

I'm not being smart when I say this but, "Don't you folks think we need to "Escape" from "Escape", just for a little while? I guess over the years I've heard enough of that song that I really don't care to hear it anymore, gee I remember when it was NEW on the Top 40 Charts and I had the 45 RPM copy of it!

Oh, has any of you watched "Ugly Betty" on ABC, Friday Nights at 8 PM? Wierd Show?

Yeah, whatever Christmas song you don't like, THAT will be the one that you hear over and over and over! For me, it's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." I had to hit the dial at least three times on Friday to get away from that one!

Next time you hear that song, just go over to 102.9 and jam out! That will relieve the pain (HA!)

I'm monitoring two stations as they play Christmas music, and between the two, I find the most often played songs are versions of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas."

AHHH Heck, let all the music of the holiday play until the 25th. Let's enjoy it while we can. It doesn't really matter to me who sings it, be it Andy Williams, Elvis, Nat King Cole, The Beach Boys, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Burl Ives, Beyonce, Dean Martin, and even now Billy Idol! Yes, last year Billy Idol released a Christmas CD, trying to sing like Elvis!

Let it all play! It's all Good!! In January, we'll wish the holiday was still here!

By the way, who knew that Amy Grant - let alone Air Supply - put out so many Christmas songs?

I thought it was strange to hear Chicago, Natalie Cole, and the Eagles put out Christmas Music.
