Christmas music on the radio..already

Looks like both 95.1 The Oasis and 99.9 KEZ have started playing Christmas music...already! I was flipping through the dial and checked out The Oasis and they were playing Christmas music a couple of days ago. Not sure what day they started. Also noticed that KEZ is also playing Christmas music too. Not sure what day they started playing Christmas music.

Probably could've ben a good time for 95.1 to hold back a bit and let people who aren't ready to hear Christmas stuff to come to and recognize them for AC music. They just barely went AC. If they are already doing Christmas, isn't that only going to somewhat confuse the audience they already have? Or are their plans to start over pretty much from scratch in the new year, hoping to keep some Christmas listeners they attract even after Christmas?

Makes me wonder if 95.1 is helping or hurting themselves by doing this. First of all, they just barely changed to become who they were. Now they are Christmas. Wouldn't this confuse the people they've attracted so far? Wouldn't it have been better if they held back a little bit and let people who weren't ready for Christmas get to recognize them as an AC? Or is Oasis' plan to go Christmas, then see how much they can steal from potential 99.9 listeners over the holiday music period and hope listeners will stick around and assume that they will start playing AC style music after Christmas like they have done with 99.9?

Perhaps, the folks at 95.1 probably should also consider a scenario like the following unfolding:

Also, keep in mind B98.5's reason for not going all Christmas. It was bringing in big ratings, but a lot of their listeners left them, and come January, they lost a lot of them in addition to the listeners who were just there for Christmas.

I proactively removed both 99 and 95.1 off my presets last Monday. I am perfectly content and relaxed without letting them put me through Christmas music hell. Christmas music crap will not increase my stress level this year. 97.3 and 104.3 are the new #1 and #2 presets at my work and home. As for stores wanting me to shop at their premises, HoHo the jokes on you. I already purchased my gift cards and except for needing to buy food you won't see me anywhere near a store until Jan. 2. In the future if radio stations and/or stores want my business don't waste your $$ on Christmas crap.

I don't know what's going on, but KEZ is not playing Xmas music...at least not this Sun. morning. I hopped into my mom's car after meeting her for breakfast, and I heard "Sunglasses at Night," "Chasing Cars," "True Colors," and that Mumford & Sons song, all in a row. No mention of any Xmas music.

I then tried to put 95.1 on to check that out, but it wouldn't come in...which makes no sense, downtown at First Watch, 5th Ave & Thomas.

???

Thank heaven the Christmas crap on the radio is done and dusted. No more ungodly Christmas songs/covers on the radio.
