christmas music on????

ok...who's the first. the trees are trimmed and sears, and santa bears his white beard. all is quiet in central pa and who is the first to really do the weird. christmas b4 thanksgiving what a beginning to a nuisance that is all somewhat annoying to those who enjoy toying listening to formats that don't change until here. hohohohoho merry halloween.

my minor was haiku as ku....only serious.

put your money on The Rose.......they have nothing to lose. Same old, same old........

WARM under Cumulus will stay the course. Mix won't want to lose momentum with any change.

Typing of that station, WARM 103 sounds good during the Overnight. Old-schooler (and ex-morning jock) Bobby Quinn is the AT, he keeps things rollin' with his usual upbeat style, and a buncha '80s Pop.

doc...look again..the past is the past...steady gains and a new book out today

Believe it or not, Xmas music is a revenue BOON for most AC'ers that flip to it. If Mix wanted to make an impact, I'd say they should "flip" TOMORROW. (I put quotes on flip, since its not a true flip. A true flip is one that is permanent, just one man's opinion)

Unfortunately Rob, you have a point. Mix has nothing to lose by flipping. They have no reals #s to speak of anywhere. But ultimately all they would probably be doing is hastening the arrival of Christmas all over the A/C landscape in the area.

seriously..you will accuse me of working there (i don't) but i do see the numbers...do you?? i dont think do...or you wouldn't be posting they have no numbers...mid 3s 12 plus and in the demos top 3 guys...go look, although you probably can't

Turns out both 101.3 and 103.3 have gone all Christmas at the same time today on thursday. If Mix was smart, they woldnt even play a single Christmas song the whole season, and keep it "Fresh", maybee steal a few of the soft rock listeners that dont want to hear X-Mas before we even ate the Thanksgiving turkey yet.

So I am driving home from work Thursday night and I am flipping around stations trying to find one that is NOT playing 15-18 minutes of commercials every hour, and I come upon WARM 103 playing f'ing "Merry Xmas Darling" by the Carpenters!! I damn near drove off the road......can I at least get the AROMA OF TURKEY before I have to start with the HO HO HO crap?? I like Xmas as much as the next person, but why not just bypass Thanksgiving altogether and start playing Xmas music fresh off of "Thriller" at Halloween???

because instead of nearly driving off the road..

your head might have exploded?

Danny, I agree with you wholeheartedly. How many times can a human being listen to Jingle Bells in one lifetime? It wouldn't be so bad if there were at least couple of good new ones every year! Now my wife, she's another story. About mid-October, she starts asking me, with a funny look in her eye, "When are the radio stations going to start playing Christmas music." I reply, "I hope NEVER!" But from the minute it starts, she has it on 24/7! In fact, last year, no fewer than FOUR stations in the market went all Christmas, and all were up in the Winter book. In the crapshoot world of radio programming, going All Christmas seems to be the surest, safest bet there is. Sad but true.

Fact is...as we all know.. A/C's target women. Women love Christmas music and...certainly after Thanksgiving...want to hear it EXCLUSIVELY. Year after year the ratings prove this to be true. What would be great is if everyone could just wait til at least Thanksgiving to start. But there are some...like Ray's wife..who are ready for it even before Halloween. Amazing.
